    Nice work my friend. From the sound of taking off and then really getting in it. This is exactly how I want my truck to run and sound. Definitely my inspiration to swap my auto to a manual.

    The shifter location is actually quite a bit further back than the sm465, it's right in front of the bench. With the bench all the way back and the shifter in 4th gear I have an inch of clearance between the shifter/seat. The shifter I used is a hurst competition with a 55-57 passenger car stick.

    hey man , I know Ive most likely commented on your I cant say just how much I absolutely love your interior , I know its mostly stock but so classy Ive got an 84 c10 lwb that Ive been waiting to drag out of a field its in good shape but i need to get it moved soon and get on it I want to have a 379 sbc or a 383 with the muncie and make it low and cheap flat black focus on interior motor trans and a 9 inch with discs around

  • @jmm98ls1
    @jmm98ls111 жыл бұрын

    Yes the same clutch and linkage can be used, but you'll need to either change to a car bell housing or have an adapter ring made for your truck bell housing. The input bearing retainer on truck transmissions is a larger diameter than car transmissions, so the hole in the truck bell is too big for the car trans.

    How did you get that M21 to fit in there? The shifter looks to be in the same position as the SM465. I've seen adapters for them, but they're about $400+ to make it work with a bench.

    Pretty much any small block chevy will interchange. A 383 is nothing more than a 350 bored .030 over and a 400 crank and rods. If you truck has a 350, it could have a 305, then you could build a 383 from what you already have. Best bet would be to look into a 383 crate motor to drop in, and yes, it will bolt right in

    I read in the comments that you switched out the Muncie for a t56.... how much modification did you need to do to fit the t56?

  • @jmm98ls1

    @jmm98ls1

    5 жыл бұрын

    Had to make the trans tunnel a little taller, and I had to convert the t56 shifter location to the middle of the case where the shift interlock plate is. I had a guy make me a custom shifter for that location. Also had to use an adapter plate to made the t56 to the gen 1 bellhousing, moved the crossmember back, and shortened the drive shaft. That's it I think!

    @ShepperdW obivisouly if you own a truck im sure u aint really worried bout the gas prices, trucks are needed regardless of gas prices, u cant shove a 4 cyclinder in a full size truck it wouldnt have enough torque or power to pull it.

    when you put in your 383 did you change your rear differential?? I'm thinking about buying an 86 c 10 and swapping a 383 in but most the guys i talked to said they had to change the rear differential because the right tire would peel but the left wouldn't. just wondering if you've had any troubles with yours man. bad ass truck dude!
