  I dont understand the down shift, Why punish the motor and drive train. Changing brake pads is easy and cheap. I do it in my tractor to put it on the JAKE but thats it.

  Sounds awesome. But if you would have used the Holly low ram prob wouldn’t have had to cut cowl . Either way nice setup

  I know it’s been awhile but I’m wanting to put in a Saginaw in my 84 c10 but I just want to know if you had to get a custom drive shaft and transmission mount? Right now I have a sm465 and I want to swap for a 4 speed

  My trucks got a 4 speed, but its the granny low type. Don't shift that fast. Got a 383 stroker being built as we speak

  Okay I know this is an old video, but out of curiousity, how did these faceplates hold up? Can you rev match and shift without the clutch like you would with a synchro-box? I daily my car only using the clutch from a stop as it makes city driving that much easier and I've gotten used to not pushing the shifter into gear until the revs are close to matched. City driving is generally really smooth and I have even gotten used to clutchless rev-matched heel-toe downshifting my synchro-box, but I get sick and tired of ocasionally not getting into gear. Sometimes the blocker ring skips right past it's slot and I have to re-rev it or clutch in to get into gear, so as a result I'm considering either scrapping the synchros or converting to face-plated gears. Longevity is obviously important for me as it's a daily. Please get back to me, I appreciate the help. Not many people run face-plated gears on the street.

  Harrison Dodge trans is still in the car and working fine. The car is twin turbo now and makes over 1000rwhp turned up and 700 on wastegates. The faceplates will outlast a blocker ring/synchro if you don’t clash them. In a t56, the faceplates are welded onto a stock gear, and liberty recommends not clutch less shifting because of that. Purpose built dog boxes with plates built into the gear are going to be stronger and handle clutchless shifts better. That said, I rarely shift without the clutch but I’ve done it. You have to be fast with the shifter with and without the clutch to keep from clashing plates. I went through the trans a couple years ago and put fork pads in it, everything else looked new still.

  The rev matching on the down shift should be clutch out of gear throttle blip clutch in to gear like a double clutch with a throttle blip in the middle

  I read in the comments that you switched out the Muncie for a t56.... how much modification did you need to do to fit the t56?

  Had to make the trans tunnel a little taller, and I had to convert the t56 shifter location to the middle of the case where the shift interlock plate is. I had a guy make me a custom shifter for that location. Also had to use an adapter plate to made the t56 to the gen 1 bellhousing, moved the crossmember back, and shortened the drive shaft. That's it I think!

  Mine is the same way except I put it in my vent on the left hand side of the steering wheel...its underneath the pillar pods...

  Is this trans faceplated? Seems to shift instantly but alsl doesnt whine like a straight cut or G-force.. Liberty faceplated gears maybe?
