37308 hauls dead 66250 and steel empties up the Lickey Incline thrash
37308 went to rescue failed 66250 that had failed, the 37 is seen here growling up the Lickey Incline with the dead class 66 in tow and the empty steel wagons filmed from Vigo Bridge. Date was 17/08/2003

Those 12CSVT engines would have to be one of the most successful designs ever to see operation.
GOOD OLD 37'S SHOWING THE WAY AGAIN TO THE YOUNGSTERS CLASS 66
proper locomotive with proper thrash absolute beast of a machine
Always have a Vintage Diesel Handy ❤ Fabulous sound ❤️lovely sound of the Class 37 Tractors ❤️
I love the 37s they just don't give up
The fact that the thing that replaced 37s had to be rescued by one
Poor thing, flogging it pieces to pull up the grade! Nice one though, considering that's a first generation Diesel. Lucky to capture the scene on video. Thanks for posting it 😉👊👍
Used in Cardiff / Swansea area for years, triple coupled giving 5250 hp, brilliant.
Tractor by name and by nature - pull anything, slowly
Good old English Electric to the rescue! :)
Ironically I have a lima model of 66250. It doesn't work either haha
😮Fairly new to the thrash and clag scene but have the class 37 sound etched on my memory due to one appearing out of nowhere for the Weardale cement trains at Stanhope, County Durham when passing through. I have become a Lickey incline fan even tho I have yet to visit it.
The Class 37 was the best locomotive produced by the Rail Modernisation Plan. Prove me wrong

Good to hear the roar of the lion again
This is just a slight slope compared to the Tyne Dock to Consett branch up here in County Durham, double headed 37's used to haul 800 ton iron ore trains up a 9 mile stretch with 1 in 49 and two stretches of 1 in 35 with some wicked curves, two 9F's did it in the days of steam...

Lack of serious clag shows how clean these older engines run when worked hard under load. They may not be as fuel-efficient as modern locos, but they still work.
