Many artists have unrelated part time or even full time jobs just to support their livelihoods. There's no shame in that. Refusing that to solely work on your art to earn income, fine, but no one should buy things they can't afford and keep mooching off on their poor family. Esp elderly parents. Everything's just an excuse.

Solely working on art with out job is impossible. I also realised suffered . Passion is just false fake which we have to realise it earlier or at least now.

I feel so bad for her...she should be relaxing, traveling, or just taking care of herself by now. But she still has so much to stress and worry about because of her unmotivated son :(

What a luxury to be depressed for 37 years mooching off of his parent and not having a single "undepressed phase" in those years to atleast think productive and earn a bit part-time

He kept saying "in one month " " in one month i will receive a call " but 10 years has passed is like he is in denial and the depression aggravates it. Just get a part time job already and try to change your life. It's your life, you can keep being a depressed mama's boy forever and die at home or you can go out and try to do what you want with your life, at least you tried, the depression won't go away alone you need to try to change your mind, situation, spirit, your life.

He must be frustrated in life, it seem that his dream were not going good as he plan. He needs to come out and let go on his dream related to entertainment cause it seem that it is not the job that God plan for him.

Her son is a narcissist. He hears his mother say she's tired and has thought of suicide and he immediately turned it to be about him and how he's severely depressed too...smgh... blessings to his parents.

The way he said commiting suicide so casually really freaks me out , its worrying how its not taken super seriously in Korea

Dude I've watched so many of these Hello Counsellers that i'm not even surprised, every few episodes there's someone that talks about committing suicide. These people seriously look at that as a way out.

While I agree with that, depression is no excuse to do what he's been doing for as long as he's been doing. Sounds like this all started in middle school, and he became depressed along the way. His actions are in no way connected to depression, imo, although they may be exacerbated because of it. I suffered with depression for well over a decade, and still worked during that time. I had to convince myself daily to just do it. I know how hard it is, and still say that it is no excuse. He does need some therapy but he needs to grow up more than anything.

South Korea doesn't recognize mental health issues enough, your experience is different than his and someone else's. He can't bring himself out of the house or to try something new, that can relate to anxiety / social anxiety leading to depression. You were able to get out and do it, some people can't, and some people kill themselves even when they seem to be functioning.

When they admitted to suicidal thoughts no one knew what to say. It’s a problem that plagues their country more than any other. So sad. I was thinking of moving there to start a practice but idk if I can make a living.

@@Taewills SK is no joke when it comes to working issues but at the same time their society isn't dealing in a proper way with mental health and how they treat each other. Ofc this isn't just an issue in Korea but in Asia as in a total.

I love the older brother so much. I can see that he cherishes his younger bro so much but also tells him to come to his senses by sending him jobs every day that he will be comfortable with. The younger bro doesnt realise how valuable those jobs are and how hard it is to find jobs like that.The whole family is really so nice but that is also one of the reasons the youngest ended up like this. This man behves just like a kid bu i just wish he would listen and accept whta they are saying. He is lucky to have a supportive family. He doesnt realise how much god has given him.

Being rejected from a job application is horrible but it happens to every one. When I was 15/16 I applied for just over 20 jobs and I got rejected by all of them. I then waited a couple of weeks and applied for more when I finally was accepted. It is a horrible feeling to be rejected but you have to keep going forward and trying. That's life.

Penelope Thomas : I agree with you...I sent my CV to almost 50 or more company. Then finally I got a job after 3 months jobless. Its very stressfull and devastated but ..it happen to everyone and we must keep going.

it's something like an addiction to keep asking for money, the parents just doesnt want to kinda let down their kids or something like that. you wouldnt know he might just get reckless stating that he does drink..

He really have such a high self-esteem. He can do a lot of things if he just work hard for it, which he should’ve done earlier. If he really has the talent, as he claim he have, then he wouldn’t be still unemployed until now. He should reflect in his self, so bad. Imagine hearing your mom wanting to commit suicide because of you, I wouldn’t be able to take that if I we’re him. Not all popular people started great, most of them had to do a lot of jobs, even idol trainees do that, so that they can support themselves. Man, you’re already 37, please learn how to act your age. It’s too frustrating to see your mom having those kinds of thoughts. :(

Because of financial issues I had to move back into my mom and it's been 4 months and I already feel deep into depression because I just feel so bad. I'm only 24, can't imagine living like that at 37.

Maisie Zoer Its possible my parents are spamish immigrants and my dad has only lived here 10 years while my mom has lived 7 and work in factories they managed to save up to buy a very nice house everything is possible if you work hard also they own land in our home country

I feel so sorry for the mother and brother that is going through this. But the mother's laugh and smile was such a delight, I couldn't help but just love her for that and laugh along.

Between all of the host, i really like youngja more, i like how realistic her thinking is how she gives advice and when she tells him to just work immediately really motivate me not to be lazy and delay things

So sad and felt bad for the parents. funny in a way that even his mom just laugh the hurtful truth about his useless and ruthless son.

But as a fellow professional webtoonist-wanna-be, I think he's cheeky. How can he not has any rolemodel or any webtoonist he respects? It annoys me.

It's 2020 and I just bought a drawing tablet with a screen for $400, and It even has pen tilt detection. I could buy a second hand piano for similar, and acting classes can be next to free. You upgrade these things when you get somewhere, not when you start out...

I'm a huge fan of horror webtoons that's published in LINE web toons... I hope he gets motivated and hard working soon. Not everyone is blessed to have supportive parents like he has, I hope he wakes up and give back to his parents.

It is so sad to hear the mom said she was depress and suicidal because of her kids. If the son feels bad about it, he should get a part time job and help his mother out. Stop feeling like a victim. I applied to a hundred companies and only had about 10 or 20 phone call and interviews. It sucks to be rejected. I get it. You just have to push forward no matter what. I love my job. It just took 90 rejections to land in a perfect role. One door close and another opens.

He has been so holed up in his own small world. His pride is soooo high, probably that was why he got hurt big time in his work experience. Dude, come on. Go out, see the world, see how many various people out there with their own stories and their own talent. Change that damn narrow perspective of yours.

The guy has either clinical anxiety or severe depression. The pressure or nagging to get a job or else may be further enabling his condition. It's a real thing. I know the frustration on having someone dependent and leeching off you can be taxing to your life ESPECIALLY the mother doing it for not just the first 20 years but 17 more years (old people wanting to suicide is the saddest thing in life) but if the family want to better their situation they should seek psychological counselling and maybe medication if they're not already. There is no shame in seeking professional advice on your loans, or physical ailments, purchases, etc as much as in your mental wellbeing. I mean as long as you get better, fuck society if it shuns you, right?

Lmao, the minute I graduated high school (and I was 16), my parents dropped my ass like a rock. I went to college and was their dependent in name only. The only thing they gave me was free(ish) housing in the summer (and that's if I wasn't doing the summer semester). Hell, I could understand someone around my age doing this but almost 40? Kick him out. He thinks he's too good to keep learning and to work. And he should go to art school - he's not that good tbh. What people forget also is that a good webcomic must have a good artist AND a good writer behind it. He's probably lacking in the story department as well.

10~15 years ago, yahoo did businesed in korea. that time, they had comics service. they mede out successful. found out some famous cartoon artist in korea. so they could be major comic service flatporm. but...time has be gone. they are not be good anymore. Before the yahoo business is over, they consent any Amateur artist join at yahoo business. He joined at that time. of coursely, his comics are not a good...color is mess, story is not a good to read. his comics are made by Readers story. if they send to him some horror story, he drawed it. that working way are not a rare case in korea.but... in other word, he never made out he own comics on yahoo comic service flatporm. so...This is a tragedy. he has mistaking because worked with other famous artists.
