Hi Roger, your vids are fantastic thanks. It would be awesome if you could include what wood you used. Also the tool for carving. May I ask why you go straight for a finishing with a ball nose instead of doing a clearance before? Thanks!

Take that block of wood with the pony and turn to a Bowl or a Platter and place on Pedestal. I'd really like to get into doing this type of stuff and the laser work also.

Roger, First, your work is inspiring. Not sure where you find the time to do it all, so you must spend 24/7 in the shop. Anyway, in the video where you carved a horse in the end of a log, you showed a CNC pendant to control Mach3. I found one on Amazon and received it today. The hardware seems solid enough, the software ... not so much. The mini CD they sent was corrupt so I couldn't get the two pieces of software that I needed to install the thing and their website doesn't seem to have downloadable files for the .dll and the macros. I did a search for the .dll, and several of the forums I found said they got the .dll here or there, but they were not apparent when I went to the site. Going to ask Amazon to replace the whole shebang. Would you consider doing a video on setting it up. I've run across a bunch of comments that it is difficult to do and that the result doesn't yield a very accurate controller. There is another on Amazon for $300 or so, but not sure I want to go down that path if this one can work. Thanks

@@rogerwebb9600 Hey Roger, new subscriber here, I love your channel and all the awesome stuff you come up with. I too like Eric, was interested to find out how you did the modelling and I just wanted to point out that doing a search inside your channel I get: "This channel has no content that matched "361."" I would love to make one of these 2.5 portraits or pictures for my girlfriend as a birthday present but I'm not sure how to being giving a photograph some volume. Thanks for your amazing work tho!

@@headrobotics the finish cut is still needed regardless of if you add the roughing cut. Simply simply eliminating the roughing cut eliminated a step.
