As a fan of every Alien comic book, graphic novel, movie, etc, this is mind-blowing and such a beautiful piece!

OMG you have done the best CNC wood carving I have ever seen on the face of the internets with a "shapeoko" lol
I get impatient making one little two-sided 3D part. So much respect for how long this must've taken, and what an amazing result!
I have to say that is probably the coolest thing I have ever seen made with a CNC machine! Mad props to your skills man!!
On CNC video binging, and this is deserving of millions of views. Its a work of art. Really.

I have always held firm on the Xenomorph being the BEST "monster" in any monster movie ever made. This is a one of a kind piece and it is AWESOME! GREAT work!
Your skill level is beyond anything I have ever seen.
Amazing, not just the perfect shape, but the motion it projects. It really feels alive, on a prowl, not just a static sculpture. True piece of art, love it! 😍
Wow!!! That it totaly wicked!!! What a centerpiece for the livingroom...
I am speachless, wow, wow, wow. Thanks for sharing this vid!
So refreshing to see your cnc work and not some crappy low res barn owl on a flat surface
Wow... Only a real professional with high skills can do that... Kudos
This is absolutely amazing! As a CNC professional and Xenomorph nerd i cant stop drooling at this!
Need more videos like this. Great work!

Just amazing. The amount of work for this.... but damn, the result is something else.... I want it!! What a piece for the mancave!!
I have been using cnc for years but seeing you I realize that I use it at 10% of its possibilities. you have always good ideas and also great software skills, it would be nice if you made specific videos about software that you use. thanks for opening my eyes, now I know where I want to go with my cnc.

Thank you for your kind words! My software skills are actually pretty basic. That's why I usually start by buying a 3D design that comes close to what I'm looking for, and then make basic modifications using Meshmixer, so that it's compatible with my CNC (dimensions, angle, etc.). There are plenty of videos about the basics of Meshmixer that explain the features much better than I can. Lastly, I watched all the VCarve tutorials on the Vectric website. They are very clear and explain everything there is to know about how to use the software for creating tool paths. Hope this helps! :)
wow, i had never imagined that this was even possible with this machine. well done!
That was so cool! Amazing job Dennis. Cheers
I’m no where near the skill this guy has with my XXL, working the software is the key points of such great works.

Thank you! I would say that visualizing the entire sequence of the process, from design via carving to assembly is the most critical for success. And not being afraid to make mistakes (and learning from those mistakes) is probably the most valuable aspect of it all. :)

Very cool. I love seeing technology leveraged to make amazing art. Good stuff.
So bloody cool!
You'll never believe this but very early into the video I thought to myself "this is such a lengthy process I can't imagine how irritating it would be for a part of the process to break down half way through" and then sure enough the cnc needed replaced and I was like "figures" LOL
@dennisvanhoof9958

Ah yes, and I needed to replace the brushes halfway one of the torso slices too!!! I paused it just in time before the router spindle stopped spinning; then had to do some acrobatics to open the router and replace the brushes, without loosing the XYZ coordinate positions. Too awkward to record that on video. ;)
Truely amazing work, without a doubt you have invested alot of time into this woodcarving. Loving your channel.
This project made me speechless... Big respect!!! 👍👍👍
Dennis, it’s amazing how you can slice the parts and figure out the best way to cut them. I get confused just watching you. Looks great as always.
This is very nice! I can see this made using wenge to be closer to its original color in the movies. A+ job!!!

excellent work! I've done much, much smaller projects and it's a ton of work. The dowel alignment is a good idea (and also good for strengthening the tail). I like that you used so many different types of adhesive (liquid nails, wood glue, super glue, epoxy). Thanks for sharing the details of the design and the carving as well as assembly and finishing.

@@dennisvanhoof9958 any particular reason you just used the clear wood glue rather than a supposedly stronger clear resin on the tail pieces. i was kind of cringing at the lack of additional support connections on those tail segments imagining them breaking easily from any sort of accident or just from a rough shipping handler.
@dennisvanhoof9958
2 жыл бұрын
@@johnharbinger4637 Good questions! No particular reason, actually. And I don't plan on shipping it, so it's quite safe as a decorative art piece in my house. The surface area of each tail segment was perfectly flat, and relatively large, so I'm trusting the glue to hold; if not, I'll reglue it with a stronger bond. Time will tell...
That is absolutely AMAZING
Really cool project. I'm surprised the tail piece held on with just the small connection. Thanks for sharing your process.

Thank you! Dense wood and fine-tipped bits would allow for even finer details. But carving such a large project that way would take years, so it's a matter of balancing the time and required amount of detail.
This video popped up just when I needed it! Thank you for sharing this great project
Legend! I have been researching ways to make a similar 3D model on my CNC Shark. I had similar concepts in my head and had been playing around with Meshmaker and Vcarve Pro. However, this video has opened up a lot of invaluable methods and information. I now know it can be done on a home shop CNC. Thank you, thankyou!!
Amazing piece of work, what patience you have, thanks for sharing.
Amazing work Dennis! Super cool project and I’m blown away by the results you can get out of the CNC router.

To whom shall I speak, and give warning, that they may hear? He that has ears to hear, let him hear. Are you saved? Where will you go when you die? Heaven or hell? The Gospel, which means the Good News is the news that God Almighty, the Creator came in the flesh as Jesus Christ to take away the sin of the world. The one God is a trinity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Son came and laid down his own life to save ours. His sacrifice on the cross paid the price for our redemption with his own blood. On the third day he rose from dead and offers the gift of salvation and forgiveness to those that repent and trust in him. Although God's creation was created perfect, having no death, sickness and disease, the creation became corrupted through Adam and Eve in them disobeying God. In this rebellion the creation became fallen through the curse of sin and mankind became separated from God. This world is fallen, but God offers reconciliation to him through his provision at the cross. Ultimately God will restore his creation to perfection when he returns but those that who reject his offer of redemption will remain condemned by their sins and go to hell. John 1:1,14 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and THE WORD WAS GOD. [14] And THE WORD WAS MADE FLESH, and dwelt among us, 1 John 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty GOD, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. John 1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and THE WORLD KNEW HIM NOT.
