Buddy of mine had a jimmy with just over 500k when he sold it. He bought it used and was religious about maintenance. No clue what the mileage was when he bought it. Regardless the thing was a little beast. I’m a ford guy but this thing won my eternal respect.

@@HighMileageReviews In the west coast. You'll find Blazers and Jimmys popping up from time to time. Some security employeess in random places have them due to the size being perfect and compact compared to the later SUV monsters that came out later. They are powerful little beast that can out muscle many of the crossovers that replaced them. One fun feature is due to the large SUV's parking over the years had to be modified to cram in the giant SUVs the Jimmy and Blazer and counter parts being medium sized in the 90s are roughly around the size of light trucks now so they comfortably can park in almost any parking space now :P. I own a 98 Jimmy same color as the one in the video. Its in fairly good condition. Been trucking around forever and its perfect for getting into the mountains around California and the desert. Its a truck. It feels like a truck, sounds like a truck, drives like a truck. the 4 wheel drive helps in some terrian as well and it can haul small boats heading to the coast. plus overall its not a bad looking truck.

I've got a 96 jimmy with 142K miles. Bought it at 80k from the wife of my dad's college roommate about 7 years ago for $3k. She bought it off the showroom floor, still had the window sticker in the glove box, $28k brand new and she only drove it 7 miles to work and back during the winter months here in Idaho and I've done mostly the same for the last 7 since I ride my motorcycle a lot. Its rust free and the interior is still in great shape. I've upgraded the rims, tires, brakes and shocks and have had to do a few minor repairs (new radiator and clockspring that was causing the horn to malfunction) but it seems to be running strong. If I can get it over 200K Id be stoked.

I just bought a 2001 Jimmy out of necessity, and it's got 275000 + KM on it. I'm hoping it'll be good to me! Situation was my car (an 05 Corolla) hit a deer and was inoperable after that, but the tow guy had the 01 Jimmy for sale. I don't know much about it yet, but it appears to have been loved thoroughly by its last owner. It made a 1000+ km drive with no complaints after sitting in a field for 3 months.

It's 2020 and I'm here because I own a 95 GMC jimmy! I bought the vehicle 6 years ago, no rust redone transmission for only 800$! She was a steal. Since then I've replaced everything under the front end ball joints, wheel bearings etc. Even down to the shocks. As far as the motor/drivetrain I've replaced the old school spider injection system down to the fuel pump/lines. Brake lines are copper mix now booster and brakes as well changed over the years. She got rear ended 2 years ago and still with a slight bend in the frame is still going strong at over 1,222,000.00 miles! Best part u ask? My 14 year old son has been obsessed with it since day one of me buying it and in 2 years she will be his to drive! Minimum rusting in all the usual places, it really is a underrated vehicle and it has so much to offer as long as it's taken care of. All in all I've put in all the work myself as well as teaching my son to turn wrenches on her and with about enough money to buy a new car sunk into it at this point it's become the best family vehicle I've ever owned!!

I just bought a 99 gmc jimmy back in March of 2020..Body is in excellent condition except for 1 spot on the rear drivers side that the former owner scraped. It was owned by a gut why owns a unit mart in my town and he always fixed things when it needed it and has dumped thousands of dollars into the receipts showed for themself.Oil changed regularly, radiator flushed when do and its mostly highway miles showing 197,756.But Carfax showed the speedometer was turned back 30,000 if it is true.Anyhow I owned a 98s10 and my best favorite one was my 1990 s10 that I replaced everything in.But lucky me there is only a power steering that leaks and doesn't burn oil..I need to replace the 2 sway bar links in the rear which I cannot find a video on for my truck and not sure which one but where the oil change reminder is it has needs stabilizer so gotta fix it when I figure out which one..But i like my jimmy and will continue putting money in it cause cheaper and better then a car payment..To continue

Wow I have one at the same color as that Jimmy and yes its at the 300000 mark but damn that one has been through hell and back. Mine coasted through purgatory and hopped between hell and purgatory but came out more or less intact didn't rust, didn't end up no where in that condition. except the chairs. The engine however is a beast of a engine. I wonder if the condition is more in the region its in. Perhaps mine being in a more arid enviornment has just been preserved far better.

Question.I have a 99 jimmy I am the 3rd owner and the vehicle was very well kept..Now I noticed the steering wheel isn't straight and it keeps pulling to the right. The tire is shot now worn on the inside toward engine and when riding down the road I can feel like a vibration .Now it has a note with oil change stabilizer?but which one don't know..I need your help on this issue..And I can notice the steering feels funny. When you turn it left to right or right to left there is play in it..Any ideas??I have a few other issues but like I said it got high miles and these vehicles front ends was a NASTY DESIGN by GM..I never take it off road least not till I finish putting heavy duty replacement which I been doing and comes time things wear out ..But great truck..

My pop pop had a first gen S-15 Jimmy 4x4 with a 4.3 6 cylinder. Ran like a champ. Had a loud little muffler. Something went wrong with the fuses and kept blowing the same one. it got to out of hand and my pop pop had to stop running it. Sat in his driveway for awhile with stuff in the cab before it got towed. It was a shame. It had the Gypsy trim package with the cool GMC Truck seats.

i have a 1996 gmc jimmy in real life and i think mine is the only one that is completley white on the outside except for its front light/grill cover, and the funny part is, idk if my jimmy is a 1995 or 1996 because the vin number was made on 12/30/95 and the vehicle was made the next day on 1/1/96. my jimmy has everything original, including the jack. unfortunatley i do not have a spare on the back of it, and also the spare tire lift is siezed. my dad said that my jimmy has more power than his jimmy ever had, and i think thats because mine has a lighter chassis since its one year younger?
