[34] - jtr captivator 4000ulf delivered!

after 1.5 years without bass, the day has finally arrived! while not the 3 i was hoping for immediately, it's a great start. this is a quick fitment test--i have still yet to fire it up and have a listen. i'll make a separate video for that and share my thoughts with you all. here's a quick video after we moved it into the basement today!
bonus - here is an imgur album with some photos of the delivery & move to the basement too: imgur.com/a/Ebqp5K9

I am getting ready to start my theater room and you have me second guessing my aspect ratio. I was going to go 150" - 2:40 and mask to 16:9 content but you went the other way. You said the JTR4k has more tactile than the recent 3 Rhythmik. JTR has way, way more robust, impressive drivers (just look at the magnet on this beast). The Rythmik drivers looks like the drivers to the intro SVS, very small magnet and looks like a very, very cheap driver.

That's a wicked setup you have going, but I'm a little bit confused by the projector. Why would you go to such lengths and spend so much money on creating the perfect room when the projector is the limiting factor?

What's up Jonathan? Few questions. Aren't you scared of someone accidently kicking subs? I would be making a grill out of speaker grill cloth or metal. Also how are you going to adjust the amp especially after you get the other 2? Hope your enjoying it. Stay safe out there in this crazy ass world.

haha i thought about that too, hard enough to get behind the 1 i have right now. but the amp settings are basically set & forgot once you get it dialed in. i'll just need longer rca & power cords to connect the subs first and then slide them back into the cubbyholes.

  • @commanderrussels2612

@@aaromon43 Yeah you can get some longer RCAs and power cords. The only time I go to the back of my subs is for initial level setting using Audyssey. Although later on I disable Audyssey anyways except for between 80-500Hz... but it helps set the levels. I use a MiniDSP + REW for adjustments to the low end. You can't have a large person setting on that... especially if they flop it... you have to find a better place that is close to your living room screen. Or, if you want asses to shake, you will need to put it some where in the back of the room. But too many things can happen when you have a speaker close to human beings...
