@@hassanger8128 a car that isnt built for racing would ofc not be able to stay cool for longer than about a minute when going at insane illegal (on 99% of roads) speeds you get supercar level performance for a relatively cheap price and the only bad thing about it is that if you are at a race track it will be more annoying than just a normal gas powered car. (I'd definetly would prefer a gas powered car on the track) other than that i doubt anyone would reach 300kmh for daily usage anyways so its basically irrevelant (edit: I mean that you wont experience overheating bc you wouldnt reach those speeds on your usual daily drive) + the car drives itself which is a good feature, getting all that in one package for 130-140k dollars is pretty good imo

It isn't just the braking improvement but all the other tweaks they made. It is like I am driving a totally different car other than the insane acceleration. The S Plaid (and X Plaid) should have come with these brakes from the factory. To have the level of repeatable, reliable and warranted performance is just crazy. Well, Tesla listened and fixed the issues the former Plaid had with this Track Package. What a great car. I was critical of the first Plaid with its one time for high speed use brakes, its yoke and limited 163 mph top speed. All of those things have been addressed. NOW it's a real landmark car.

Not really, it can’t manage heat and repeat performance. Performance is also battery dependent. What’s the point in a track pack when you spend most of the time resting the car because it’s overheating. It’s posted track lap times are not half of the story because with electric they should actually take the average of 3 runs (low, med and high battery states). Ice cars dont have this problem. You have 100% same performance at any level of fuel and can manage lap after lap without rest.

I would take my Plaid over any car in the world because it does so may things so well. There is no better OVERALL car built today. It has an 8 year warranty on the battery and motors, it seats five, has more storage space than most midsize SUVs, including the Porsche Cayenne, it seats 5, has the best software tech and it's literally the safest car in the world in a car crash. Oh, and it runs 9 second quarter mile times ANYWHERE, even in the rain. 🤷 Now, if I lived on or visited a proper race track daily I would probably own a 911 or some other track focused car, but nothing comes close to the Plaid for day-to-day commutes.. • @ralphpurtcher

An approximation is that consumption (given a perfectly efficient drivetrain) increases with approx the square of the speed. So 320 km/h would use approx 10 times the consumption at 100 km/h, so maybe something like 200kwh/100km rather than the more typical 20kwh/100km.

How many of us actually go to the track? I have owned a lot of modified ICE cars in my day. 700hp corvettes, rx7s etc in the past which were amazing. But this plaid is literally my favorite car. It does everything so well and it makes you feel a bit of an asshole because you drive in a way where you know nothing can touch you on the road lol. I've given so many people dirty looks when they don't let me merge or when they try to go around me lol. I just look in my rearview and go NOPE! Not passing me!! And i leave bus lengths instantly on them. Then i wait for them to pass by and i give them a look like, sorry bro you had no shot lol. That's the only downside to these plaids. Obviously we need battery tech to step up if we want to have them as daily driver, but I see potential with sports hybrids. You can take advantage of electric engines with their monstrous amount of torque and combustion units for top speeds. With good power management from ECUs, such cars can be beasts. People do underestimate it though.

??? e motors are literally better for top speeds than piston engines precisely because they have monstrous torque as you've mentioned. The only reason EVs haven't beaten the jesko yet is because they are rev-limited unlike all ICE cars with their weaker engines. However, manufacturers don't bother putting a gearbox in EVs as it'll only improve the top speed but not the acceleration, and ppl only care about acceleration. e motors are simply superior to piston engines in every single aspect. Higher hp, higher torque, instant torque, ability to torque vector, and can adjust its power output order of magnitude times faster than piston engines. The problem right now isn't the e motors but the battery and transmission. Once solid state batteries come out and we add more gears to EVs there will be no reason for piston engines to exist from a pure performance standpoint.

I'm supriesed like how no one is talking about the strong limitation I've seen in this video. It's such a limitation the fact that at 10 pm (so not that hot) the car is overheating like that after 2 min of speed (and not even a top speed considered it was overheating also at 170km/h). I don't know.. if from a very objective point of view it seems to be an amazing car with crazy acceleration, to the other hand though, it's very limited considered the battery and also the overheating! Like what's the point if I can run it at decent speed (150-200) for just let's say 10 km before the overheating comes up and you are forced to go MUCH slower to let the batteries cool down? Isn't it a pain everything considered?
