I wish the two freight trains we passed had come through when I was waiting

This was awesome, I could feel the wind from here.. wish I had a spot like this, I'd be there a lot. Thanks for sharing this..

We are warned to stand behind the yellow line, even that feels close when an express rushes through and you feel the wind as it passes. It is a great station you can see a long way in both directions. I just took this to use my memory card up which only had 6 mins left. One day I will go and take more video. See the signals change. On the last train passing you see two greens one on the slow the other on the fast They are around 1000 yards away you see it change back to single yellow when the train has gone about another 1000 yards past the next signal. 2 miles a minute at top speed Awesome

Glad you enjoyed watching. Just a little filler while waiting for the train home. The trains look a lot faster in real stood there.

During my student years I used to travel from Darlington to Manchester by a teatime train that took the delightful rural line from Northallerton to Leeds via Ripon and Harrogate before reversing to head off across the Pennines - slow but more enjoyable than the faster main line. A victim of the Beeching cuts of course.

I just remember the Ripon line. We had a relation in Burniston and caught a train to Ripon then a bus. Perhaps the train we caught went via Harrogate.
