30 Days, 30 Reels: Exploring the Impact of Daily Instagram Reels Posting
I posted a new Instagram Reel EVERY DAY for All of April to find out what would happen to my account! Since Instagram no longer cares about photos, I had to cave and find out what the big deal is with Reels. And the results surprised me! I ended up with 10x as many new followers, 4000% more Reach and 3000% more Engagement than the previous month and in general, my account was feeling much more active than it had! But was it really worth the trouble in the end?

That works for you because you already had a good follower base that boost something you post right away. If you have a small following you can post 2-3 times a day for months (yes, I have friends doing this) and grow nothing while thousands of people see you reels.
Interesting experiment. The results are so good. I like what you said that this process forced you to be creative every day. Consistency matters. Yet, I would prefer batch creating the content for some weeks ahead, it takes away the stress 😉

Yeah I agree for sure! I’ve gotten a bit better about shooting with more purpose and having footage for a few reels every time I go out. That way it’s just editing whenever I’ve got tome
Awesome video Dunna, Makes total sense on how its a up and down with Reel and TikTok about views and engagement. Thank you for sharing the details on this topic.
REEL-LY! SMASHED! IT! AGAIN! DUNNA! Great to hear some of your insights about this self-imposed challenge. I love the fact this pushed you into a more creative, testing what you can come up with, though not a great time for Mrs D! You inspire me, Bro! Thankyou!! 🙏🏾😁
Thanks so much for your honesty is saying that this "may or may not" work for us too! So many on KZread try to tell you that you can for certain do what they did too, and it is frustrating to see that all the time. Thanks for putting a realistic spin on your videos!
Really appreciate you sharing genuine first hand experience with reels.
Crazy. Thank you for the time you put in and effort. Definitely a weird algorithm indeed. Appreciate your video! Very informative and helpful 🤙🏻
I have no idea what your channel is about but you’ve hooked me to subscribe from this single video. Instagram is endlessly frustrating and can take far too much time but I’m trying to be more consistent and trying not to spend too much time on it. Nothing is more frustrating than a reel that takes forever to create then it flops 🙃
I definitely like the side of the reels where it forces me to be creative, make content and edit the videos. Doing these things as much as you did is definitely going to improve your skills just simply because you are creating something every day. But on the other hand, they do take a lot of time to produce especially when it’s not what I do for a living. They are super fun though! 👍🏼

Man I really like this video. As someone said in previous comments. Your videos feel super real and fun. I felt a little bit inspired by the callenge. I am definitly gonna do it. Using my camera and davinci and trying to use as much ig reels sounds as possible. Great jod Dunna.

Thanks for watching! I’ve seen too many “how to go viral on IG” videos lately, I figured this was necessary to keep us all with our feet firmly planted on earth.
Great video 👍 I think I got a bit numb over the past few years when it comes to growth on social media. Ultimately it doesn’t really help when it comes to the money department because these platforms rarely pay well. So at the end of the day it is promotion for another product or a fun side project. And if you are like me and don’t have a product to promote, you begin to wonder why you even become a algorithm slave for your fun side project. Not worth it. I honestly believe that we are slowly approaching a point where many creators will burn out and seek other avenues because these algorithm focused platforms just suck the soul out of any creator who wants to take it seriously long-term. Thanks for coming to my TED Talk!

Great video Dunna Did it. you gave me the kick in the tush to try this whole reel thing. I am going to attempt my first one by the end of the week. thanks you rock
Thanks for this great advice full video! I myself posted 2 reels in the last two month and it was also very unpredictable how they went. But the next time I will go all in and try the 30 day reel challenge myself!
I’m doing reels every single day, its just a hobby and I don’t want to stress myself to it. Yes the views are unpredictable sometimes it goes up sometimes its down. But I don’t care. I had a lot fun making reels. My niche is all about food snacks
This is video is everything. I have made 2 of the same videos, and like you said, they both did differently. It was so odd. I definitely grew more in March when I was posting 5x a week vs now posting 2-3 times a week. But I kind of want to try posting 5x a week again, but I know I was burnt out asf by the end of March and April I just felt like a potato.

Hey man, nice video, thanks for your tips and explanation, I am really struggling with my insta, hope it will improve in future
Great video Dunna!! I've been postponing doing this experiment for a long time, as I thought about producing maybe a week of content ahead of time to have some buffer, can't edit one every single day... The loop thing really worked for me in the past also, it's a great tip! I'll try making 7 in the upcoming days, and if I manage I'll start my 30 day challenge also :))))
Love comparison experiments like these. I appreciate you, Dunna, for sharing your results 💜🙏You Definitely deserve more followers and views!! 🙌📶

That's what's wrong with these algorithms now. You have to post every day or very often, and yes people see you but at that rate what you post can't have quality and then people don't follow you.
Love it, no sugarcoating, no fairytale myths, just straight out truth. Literally everything I've noticed. Subscriber here.
great video, interesting, informative, great video quality. You jut got one more follower man, keep up with the good work!
Great experiment and knowledge, thanks for sharing!!
Thanks for taking the time to make this video. I've only posted 2 Reels to my Instagram. 1st one did over 5K.....really still trying to understand REELS vs everything else on that platform. Posted a 2nd one yesterday (so no thoughts yet). Want to do more on REELS...as you stated it seems to be what INSTAGRAM is focusing on for growth and promoting on their platform. Keep up the great work!
this was great definitely confirmation to let all out of my content ideas out the bag and drop some good reels for ig thank you Dunna🙏💯
I started doing this a few days ago, funny that im finding this now. I resonate with your point on being creative. So far I'm enjoying the journey of being creative again. Doing too many projects for people where you're not creatively in control is like atrophy to the muscle. And a side hobby to still keep training my eye!

Kudos to Dunna for always bringing value-packed content to the table! 🌟"
Great tips!! Enjoyed your video. 🔥
This is the best video about reels so far.. yeah I don't want to dance or lipsync and crap. I don't even want to be on camera.. which I know doesn't help. I'm not an on camera person. I'm just on there to promote my books. Thanks for sharing this.
Really cool video 🙂 Great job on the Reel 😯

Interesting video Dunna, i realize the insane difference in views with reels compared to photos as well. I think I'll start to post 1 reel a week or so from now on. Usually I get about 200 views for a picture and reels I'd get about 2000.
Interesting, we have been practicing our reels but sometimes the hard work can go by unnoticed. Your photography looks incredible by the way.

Yeah good idea! I worry about messing with my main channel too much but it might be worth a try.
I so fu... like what you do - super thanks man!
All what you've said above sounds exactly what I keep noticing is what makes a creative content successful on Instagram. But for someone who is an artist who creates work that takes days, it's hard to post it in real-time every single day. Another artist mentioned to me here on KZread that documenting your process is exactly what I could do instead... and not just for the dopamine hit ones. Right now I just want to take a break off of Instagram for now, re-strategize and prepare my documented/recorded work to get back on Instagram AND TikTok for about a month like a marathon for 30 days straight. These days you can't just do one reel but 3 to 4 reels a day to get that 100k to a million... and if the viewers are that hungry for content, I can't wait for that algorithm to switch back to interest-based focus and not just social-only focused. This is what I'm hearing right now: they're changing the algorithm again back to where it used to be. Cross all fingers for that.
Probably the most honest video regarding instagram reels 👏🏽

That's super interesting. I have a super small instagram account and have been messing a bit with Reels as well. I noticed one, which was a clip of me playing guitar, received 5,000 views in the first ten minutes. I have a handful more that are about identical in format that only have a couple hundred views. I like what you are doing with it - a little challenge to yourself - and, yeah - my thoughts were exactly as you had...I'm not going to do that other stuff.
I laughed so hard when you said "I don't f*&king care about that." Pretty much sums up everything I feel about instagram now. 🤣

Great vídeo as always Dunna. My thought is just One. IG is going to be in the future a tool for showing our work. Like sharing to someone the profile for them to take a look. Its just takes a lot of priceless time (yep, including our family) for "Nothing". I just simply multiply the IG QR code in sheets, cut little squares and deliver on Hand to people in the street to the ones might be interested and present the page, human to human. But Thats just me. Have a great hug from Lisbon!

I can believe it. I've never gotten the reach back I had from 2019-2020. That must be how they have reels set up
Very helpful, thank you 👍

Hi Dunna, thanks for your tips! Just wondering whether you post them on instagram as "reels" (which seems to only appear in the reels section) or just normal "videos" so that it will show as "post" and "reel" at the same time? Cheers
how to make insta reels in premiere pro would be super helpful vid Dunna! ✌️
I chuckled when you said, "hell no!" Lol
Great videos.
I’ve also started posting more reels, shorts and TikTok’s and it’s been insane to see how much the algorithms are pushing short form vertical content on each platform. The other YT vids I posted at the same time have no where near the same amount of views, reach or engagement.
Great experiment. Have you considered doing a similar test on KZread Shorts, a platform that offers more then just the dopamine hit that Instagram does. I'd be curious if that works to help grow the channel! Thanks for the video and the content here mate.

I rarely post reels, but I reached the same conclusion as you. Some are a hit and some flop, and I don't know why

I love that there's a THR in that first reel
Definitely doing a 30 day reel challenge
I have so much trouble getting my head around the vertical quick vidz craziness. It's just a lot of work and time even more so if you're not a full time creator that's already editing all day. I mean you could waste 2h a day for a random result and impact just to feed an unpredictable algorithm. My heart wants to resist this concept , my head kinda wants to give in 😆 . Definitely sounds like an addiction or sickness ...
Love your work..could you please provide some tips for improvement on my work 😁
I dint reel-ize this video was going to be so cool.
Hey Dunna, how do you feel about using Reels for stills only? I pretty much exclusively do stills(i know, i know. am looking to get into video soon). So I have no video content currently, but was wondering if it would be worth the time to try to create reels, but only using stills. Sort of like a creative slideshow I guess would be a good way to put it. My regular posts lost all traffic when I went inactive for a little over a year.
Hey! Big fan of your channel! I have one question for you as far as the editing of these reels. I know most of these reels you said you edited in premiere. My question is if I wanna use one of those awesome audio’s that I can find on instagram and save how would I edit in premiere using that audio? Did you screen record the audio from your phone and transfer it back into premiere then upload through the phone after export so the audio matched? I know it’s important to use the popular sounds within instagram! If anyone has any tips on how best to source audio from instagram using those awesome remixes that are everywhere I’d appreciate any tips! Thanks!
