I currently create my art and designs with #procreate and #affinitydesigner, Affinity Photo and On1. In my earlier career I was a creative director mainly in editorial design for magazines and books and graphic design marketing. I come from old school analogue design background before embracing new tech, which i am still continuing to learn all the shiny new things getting introduced every day. As I learn, I can pass on what I know onto you - hopefully.
I edit my videos in Davinci Resolve, which is awesome.

As a creative professional, I can't see how you can view this as anything other than an existential threat.

As with most ai, I see it as a tool in the long run. It won't replace human creativity, trend setting, innovation etc but it will free us up from the tedious aspects of our work.

Back during the day of silent movies, there were bands that would play at the movies... Until talkies came out. It was definitely uncomfortable for many of the people who had done those jobs. But life requires adaptation. And people usually find a way when they have to. The world economy is in a suspicious place too. It would not be shocking if something like the Great Depression happened in the next 15 years or so. Better to pick up a more enterprising attitude today. That way, even if things change for the worse, you'll be able to get over it.

Yup, in my old job as magazine art editor we stopped sending the galleys and hand drawn layouts to the repro people when DTP came out and we moved onto computers. Also when apps like Canva atc appeared, that cut a lot of work for designers as people started making their own. So we have to adapt and make the new tech work for us.
