So…I’m a white dude who is fostering a 13 yr old black child who was kicked out onto the streets by an abusive Dad. When he got to me he had a mess of dreads on his head and I watched your channel to know what to do. In fact today we did a trim and a retwist and he was off to see his girlfriend in true swag form. You are doing the Lord’s work with these people and helping a lot of folks who watch your channel!

I love watching how you give life back to your clients by simply caring enough to take the time to do what no one else seems to want to do. There are so many videos of people who are simply told to chop it all off, treating long locks of hair like it's a curse. To see these beautiful women glowing with their hair intact is a blessing.

Depression is cruel and managing hair can be so hard in the throughs of it. It's satisfying to see it getting de-matted. But I would encourage a few inches to keep it manageable or if waist long bringing it to mid-shoulders. Removing the weight is very important and long hair is heavy lol. I don't wear mine long at all anymore.

@@NinaTheChoosenOne you can get it untangled/matted by a professional hairdresser which is what I did the first time, before it escalated (I have pretty long hair ) , unfortunately the second time I cut it myself which I don’t recommend doing 😂 i understand some are embarrassed getting theirs done by a hairdresser because of their situation but I didn’t really have any choice , perhaps there are tutorials online

The way she talked to this client reminded me of when I went to the dentist for the first time in 6 years this June. I was shaking when I came in and then when the dentist said I had more than 10 cavities I started bawling. The dental assistant calmed me down by explaining how everything would work, and she told me she had seen worse. I didn't even cry like that when I got the first filling, but the dental assistant that day saw the tear drop fall out of my eye when the dentist pulled out the needle, and she held my hand, and I've been fine at all my appointments since. One more this Friday and then I'll be like my daddy and get my teeth cleaned every 3 months now Edit: thank you all for the positive comments and 1k likes❤️❤️ Not sure if they missed the cavities on my 2 wisdom teeth or they were waiting for this year to start so my coverage would renew, but I just had those 2 filled 3 days ago (a week after my first cleaning this year) so I think I'm good for now.

February was my first time back to the dentist after not going since 2016. I had 8 cavities and needed one root canal. I sadly had the exact opposite support from my dentist office. The girls would talk over me as they were fixing my cavities talking about how I should of not neglected my teeth and how awful my teeth were i wanted to cry. After getting all 8 cavities taken care of and a root canal I had 2 deep cleanings then wisdom teeth removal surgery then finally after 15 years I finally got braces on, its now November and I'm 4 months into my braces and I'm so proud of myself for not listening to those mean dental hygienist and continued my teeth journey!! It's been 9 months straight of dental work and pain but all I'm thinking about is the time I get my braces removed and show back up to that dentist with my new smile 😃

I relate to what this client said at the beginning of this 3 day journey. I am currently covering up my matted hair with scarfs because I am ashamed. Even making it cute with pops of color gets old. It is a mental imprisonment. There is stagnant energy, zero spontaneity and certainly never any sensuality. Hi! How old is your daughter? How does her hair get matted? I have super dense hair, gets matted easily, I could offer some tips to prevent matting if it helps! 1: don't sleep with your hair down. Always put it in a braid, or wear it in a hair wrap/bonnet (google if you don't know what it is). This helps keep my hair from getting lesser up in my sleep! 2: keep it moisturized, and make sure to brush through it every morning. Even if you protect your hair, it can grow and curl around rubberbands. Thus is something I struggled with a lot, my hair would always mat around my Rubbermaid! 3: get a really good detailing comb and LOTS of conditioner... though I'm sure you know that already!

Hair makes such a difference. I remember going to the hairdressers after I started to climb out of my depression, had caramel highlights with balliage and an undercut to manage the thickness of my hair. When I saw the result I started to cry with happiness because I felt human again, like a princess. I wanted to cut my hair shorter but the hairdresser probably pegged that I was not in the right mind and said that if I wanted to go shorter after a week to come back and cut it shorter. I did it almost 2h later. Thank you for being such a precious human being and treating those who don't see theirself as valud, as valid human beings. I did a big chop because I prefer short hair on me. Just lost the waist-length dread. Freed myself and cutting out the damage and slowly unmatting and unraveling the short tuft set my heart and soul free! Thank you!

This old white lady with perfectly straight, never tangled hair is sitting here crying over you - the love you show, your faith in God, your understanding of healing and willingness to undertake it, your passion for ministry, and more than I can’t even express. Thank you, thank you for saving people’s lives and making me so happy. May God bless you richly!

When she said COVID jacked her up, I FELT that. And when ya'll talked about how these things come out in different ways for people. For me, it was my weight. I used to be very fit before the pandemic, but something about that whole situation knocked the wind out of me. I've gained a lot since then. I've decided that this will be the year that I lose it - I'm watching this on my treadmill lol. This video makes me feel a little stronger, so thanks for sharing. Her hair came out amazing, I'm glad she could hang onto so much of it.

I can’t imagine how that must feel like. I have seborrheic dermatitis, just three days of not washing my hair gives me the itchiest scalp. It must be such a relief to have clean hair after all this time.

I would love to see you like a year later check in with the people whose hair you've detangled! But I'm sure that can be really discouraging for you knowing you spent days and dozens of hours only for them to immediately give up again and a year later they're back just as bad as they were before you detangled them to begin with. But I'm sure there are just as many people who go on to be so much happier and successful and don't end up in this position again and I would love to hear from those people as well!

@@politereminder6284 what do you mean? People end up like that for a variety of reasons. Some because of mental health issues, some because of physical health issues, some because they ended up homeless. I don't understand what you're saying? You wouldn't be interested in seeing an update because you assume they all just immediately went back to not taking care of their hair again? I doubt that's true.

This gives me motivation honestly I don’t want it to get this bad seeing how long & beautiful her hair is though gives me so much hope
