I like being sober. I drank hard for 8 years and nothing good ever happened but now i have quit alcohol i am doing so much with my life that is positive.
I pour a sparkling water into a wine glass to help continue the ritual. I save specific drinks that I only drink that way so it still feels special, marks the change from tea and water and busy in the day to evening sipping and relaxing. Love it!
The more you're honest with yourself about alcohol the more it makes sense to stay away from it. Great video as usual keep going brother !
The drinks I’ve drank since giving up alcohol was water, seltzer and the occasional diet soda. I’m now almost coming up to 150 days sober. I definitely am starting to feel an accomplishment and getting my self confidence back. I’m not nervous about going out to parties or get togethers anymore. When you are ready you know you are ready to quit. Thanks sorry for rambling.

Diet soda is worse than regular soda ....they contain aspartame ,you'd be better off drinking alcohol

It is day two.i quit it at one go.very difficult even today surviving without alcohol.but i challenged my mindset not to touch the spirit.have to sacrificed after thirty years of alcohol addicts.
I used to judge people who didn't drink, (being myself a heavy drinker) but I think I did it in a way to justify my own drinking problem. P.S. I don't drink anymore.

Many people judge it so much! Yesterday in a restaurant I heard someone say to the waiter "I know it's boring but I'd just like a glass off tea". And I'm just thinking to myself, why is not drinking alcohol so strongly thought of to be boring? I was boring hung over on the couch every weekend! Now I'm not boring going for walks and skating and such with my partner. And we still go out to dinner and have fun. Sorry for the rant, I just really hate that so many people now consider me boring because I don't drink anymore! (*edit* I used to call non drinkers boring as well, when I was still drinking 4 bottles of wine a week.)

I drink occasionally but so little people don’t think I drink at all. Truth be told it gets less appealing the more pressure I’d get.

I stopped drinking 28 days ago. I was a very heavy drinker and a daily drinker. Alcohol was my coping mechanism. What I have found that helps me to drink instead of alcohol is sugar free juices and diet soda. Thank you for your videos, you have helped me a lot.
You could always walk around at a party with a tumbler of apple juice. People will think it's Scotch. It worked for Dean Martin all those years.
Kombucha all the way; low sugar, tastes good, relatively good for you, and increasingly common in restaurants and even in pubs.
"There is nothing to replace" that is a great quote Leon. Well done, as always!
Some alcohol free drinks are quite nice, I don't drink them to try and fit in with other drinkers. Mainly every now and then if I see one that I haven't tried before. I'm a year and 3 months completely alcohol free 👊 Your videos got my started on my journey and I've never looked back

I was 50 days sober then slipped on my birthday, felt bad but didn't beat myself up over just had a "see this is why you stopped drinking" didn't really enjoy the buzz, I think my mind romanticizes it
I drink the non alcoholic beer. Tried a few but I prefer “blonde”. I just love going to a bar or a restaurant and asking if they have any non alcoholic beer. I feel like I’m sending a message .... “you should provide that, consumers want it.” Like one of your other commenters, I like the taste and change from tea. I do understand your mindset Leon, but I think your lime and sparkling water is the same as non alcoholic beer. It stops the questions. Today’s video was excellent as always.
My go-to now is La Croix sparkling water. It comes in a variety of flavors, has no sugar, no calories, and is delicious.
I make homemade lemonade and drink 2 liters a day. Mix 1 liter of spring water, juice of 2 lemons {well squeezed using a lemon press}, 2 organic stevia packets and 1 scoop of collegen peptides for good measure. Drink ice cold. I find this drink to be so refreshing and the lemons supply the body with something like 200% of the vitamin C that we need daily.
I find that I would have a beer because I was thirsty. Now when I'm thirsty, I drink seltzer water. A full glass of seltzer water quenches my thirst, and eliminates the desire for alcohol. It works!
For me it has been arizona teas and soda, to go no sugars/sodas i do sparkling waters either in a can or a glass, most are zero sugar and zero calorie and unless your potassium levels are abnormal, theres very little negatives i can think of to them now 91 days without alcohol, drank since i was 18, im 29 now, im noticing the ways alcohol blocked out alot of what ive been missing out on and how it can blind you and make you unhappy
I'm 4 and a half months sober now and I do drink alcohol free wine sometimes, not to replace the alcohol but I just really miss the taste of wine. There's no softdrink that tastes the same (that I know of), but I now just poor it in a regular glass haha. Maybe at some point I will stop with the alcohol free drinks as well, but it kind of helps in social settings to drink it from a wine glass so I don't have to explain myself to people indeed.

There is nothing wrong with having a glass of wine here and there.. UNLESS you are a person that cannot handle it. In that case, continue what you are doing. But I think this channel is heavy skewed towards anti-alcohol-consumption because Leon had a very difficult time with it, as some people have, including myself at times. Sometimes I just feel like commenting to share my own opinion though, that just because someone binge drinks or likes alcohol, it does not mean they are an alcoholic that can never drink again. There are many lanes/avenues for individuals and in some cases alcohol is extremely helpful for me when it comes to creating art or during social interactions, again, not knocking down on you for being 4 months sober which is a great accomplishment, I just feel the need to share this so someone else who is beating themselves up over not being sober or questioning their habits to understand, hey, sometimes it is ok to drink if you are one of the individuals that knows how to deal with it

@@nicebars Yes I completely agree with you. I also think issues with alcohol are on a scale, I don't like that you're either completely without issues or a fullblown alcoholic, there's a lot in between. For me, I used alcohol a lot as a coping mechanism for depression and I tend to get very melancholic and the risk of me hurting myself is just a lot bigger on alcohol. I'm doing great now but I'm also on anti depressants so for me personally as a whole it's best to at least stay away from alcohol until I no longer view it as an escape from bad feelings. If at some point I feel I will be able to just have a drink on special occasions I might try that.

If I’m in a pub I’ll drink tonic water with ice & lemon. At home I drink pots of tea. Occasionally I’ll have an alcohol free beer, Guinness and Becks being my current favourites.
Curious Elixirs! Athletic Brewing is pretty good too for NA beer.
Great clarity Mr Leon keep up the good work 😊

Constantly having to answer why I am not drinking - and all the assumptions people make (no, I am not pregnant thank you! Next question?) - is really one of the biggest challenges I run into. I am in Australia, so the drinking culture is strong - very strong. Tea and soda water with lime are my go to drinks instead of wine. I did try alcohol removed wine once, just wasn't a fan of it.

Made a video about this 👌
Why isn't alcohol called ethanol?I'm trying to get it thru my thick head how horrific alcohol is for my body. I've been sober 15months. It sucks. Triggers like every day. I would rather be drunk than feel "good" & "healthy "....idk. no drink substitutes my fav silver ethenol tequila. 🌵
I’ve gotten into V8 sparkling drink. Low sugar. Has vitamins. Tastes great! And I like it in my stemless wine glass because I like the size. If I’m out I allow myself myself whatever healthy drink I can find, if I want fancy coffee, I can get it.
Great videos, spot on! Thanks!
I'm trying to cut back my drinking from a glass of bourbon whiskey or Anejo tequila to only drinking twice a week instead of every night. I recently overdid it after some really bad news by drinking a a half a bottle of Anejo tequila.
Try Tonic water with a slice of lemon and ice . Its Gin and tonic without the gin . 😊
i developed a very similar mindset towards others after becoming vegan, now on to kicking alcohol, thanks for the very helpful advice❣️

Great example! Thanks
Kratom and orange juice
Club soda and sugar free grape juice is my favorite non alcohol drink
Scottish blend is nice too and Aldi Red Label.
Drink Pilligrimo or mineral water or kombucha tea
Heroin addicts replace it with the methadone when there coming of it. Great video though bro ! 👊🏻
Also I like lavender cream soda at coffee shops.
Osm sir
What about Thc gummies ,substitute
I like drinking Pepsi max or have the odd redbull that's wa I replaced it with but I remember I just was like fk it go for walk I live in a care home sort of thing and nakes me paranoid on certain people who knock for me asking for things like a rollie or can or weed I was a alcoholic once I have slipped up this time but hopfully I have accepted the services to help me not drink again wish me luck all x
I've really gotten into tea myself, and does scratch the same itch that craft beer does, it's been fun going that direction. Thanks for these videos, I was a person who just enjoyed drinking so much it became an every day thing, then it started getting excessive and I noticed it through a lot of the problems you've outlined in several videos here. Always tired, always dehydrated, dry skin, rough hangovers, and it continued to compound, so I had to do something, and finding your channel has given me the information and motivation to put the effort into kicking it. Although I'm thankfully not addicted, the habit was a lot harder to break than I expected, but I've found a lot of good replacements, tea and specifically Spindrift sparkling water which has real fruit juice in it instead of the artificial flavoring of a lot of the other sparking waters has helped tremendously.
hello Leon

Tonic and cranberry squash.

Or wine
Smoke weed or eat it instead of drinking alcohol. It’s a proven successful way to get off the alcohol. Alcohol kills and it’s a slow painful death I see it on ,y job so I don’t want to hear people criticizing marijuana.
Spankling water
Your logic is a nice thought but flawed. Heroin users use methadone and suboxone all the time.
Might as well drink non-alcoholic beer......no thanks.ill stick to my wine
