One week sober. Decided to quit drinking for the following reasons: 1) about 15-20lbs overweight. without strict dieting I haven't been able to lose it and each time I drink I tend to eat poorly the day of and the day after. 2) my memory is getting worse which worries me from a brain perspective and dementia thought. 3) Want to make sure my liver is healthy which it can't possibly be with the 20+ years of moderate to heavy drinking. 1-5 beers per night, with some nights 10+. 4) read up on the harmful effects of alcohol and don't want any of those in my future. Would be happy to never drink again. But i'm only a week into this and have never made it more than 3 months but have never had the motivation I have now.

Hey Leon, great video and here is something I’ve been doing that may be a bit different but wanted to share to help anyone else. So yes nights are worst for me. I’m still early in this but what I’ve done is remove alcohol from the house. I bought a safe that has a timer ⏱. I will stick my vehicle keys inside at between 3-5 pm and lock it. I set the time for when the most near liquor store is closed. The safe will then unlock which is 9pm for me. Once the keys are inside the night gets much easier in the beginning because there is nothing I can do to get alcohol. I’m in bed by 9-9:30 anyway so those few hours go by faster. I realize this may not work for everyone but works for me so just wanted to share. I have also added the schedule to my routine as well because it definitely helps me stay focused and feel like I’m accomplishing things. Your the best bud thanks for what you do. The safe is Genie Hand got it on Amazon.

1 to 2 month sober. I'm usually not bc by the end of the day, I'm tired, stressed, and I have to watch a disable family member all day By late afternoon I need a drink. Then when I had to watch them all weekend then i drink all weekend from morning till night bc I wasn't going anywhere. Just staying home. All day Saturday, all day Sunday. I had to be selfish, family yes,, but not my child. Find somebody else. Now 2 months without a drop to drink. Feeling good about myself for being sober. Idk about family member I said no more. I need to take care of myself first.

******LMAO****** None of this works... What works is you have to replace drinking with a placebo. Example: If you are a beer drinker after work, and consume a six pack or more before bed. You need to switch out with cold carbonated Lacroix water or similar. The Carbonation is what triggers the response to not wanting to drink beer. I have helped myself and many others with this technique. It is what WORKS.
