Its basically the "For whom the bell tolls" riff by Metallica!! LOL funny, He says "lamb of god, pantera" LOL ... wow.
@axeofcreation

It's not "basically" For Whom the bell tolls, that song and riff is a completely different harmony. And Yeah, Lamb of God - 11th Hour. Thanks for playing.
@metalriffs6276

@@axeofcreation in your opinion. but it is basically for whom the bell tolls. slight variation only. when i first heard it i thought for sure he was just playing that riff...shocked me when he said what he said. but you do you.

@@metalriffs6276 I mean, it's really in your opinion because he wrote the riff and also has a channel dedicated to things like music theory, I would trust his distinction over yours, random youtube commenter.

@@5kr3aminMunk33 LOL so your saying there is no way in hell that he can write a riff that accidently or intentionally is the same as an existing, other band's riff??? are you serious?? wow...the internet strikes again.
I love that you go into enough theory to have an understanding of whats going on and why, but not so much that you turn playing into homework. subscribed!
Such a nasty, grungy tone, but still versatile.
Love the satin finish on this guitar. Way classier than the usual glossy.

Style #4 of drop D riffing -- all of those classic Van Halen riffs from the Fair Warning album.
That guitar is fire man, not even talking about the octo-shirt

Honestly, it looks so smooth, the inlays are beautiful as well.
Real cool video - short, focused, and explained well. Now I didn't learn anything because I've been playing for so long and these are all ideas I've already picked up, but I appreciate you putting it into words these concepts that just sit in my noodle for years.

Damn dude that kiesels matte black burst looking finish is insaane🔥🔥
The 3rd riff was absolutely sick tho. Just proved to me that harmonic minor is one of the best scales for metal
Really appreciate the content on AoC. As a Tool fanatic and a confirmed Drop D addict this channel is a personal fav
I'm a bass player but this was still super helpful. As well your tone is ferocious! Keep killing it.
Great informative video it’s helped me out and definitely a fun tuning to keep making up riffs !
Thank you for the guitar knowledge my brother
Awesome video, great ideas!
Yay! I understood one! Also, ‘Outshined’.
That guitar is perfect
2nd riff is my favorite, so soundgarden like
Great Lesson/Tips! Thanks!!!

Thanks for the video
Almost 100k So close man keep it up!!

Thanks. I also enjoy playing the 0356 type riffs, combined with that cliché 3 -> 5 on the A-string.

This is the first video of yours that I’ve watched. Based on how you spoke and explained the video I thought this was gonna be simple and tame, then you pimp slapped me across the face with that first riff so now I’m gonna stick around.
Love your channel I have for years and I really appreciate the way you explained context because so many music teachers will hand you all the tools and just say go for it your videos always make me understand music better

I'm so happy to see Kiesel stuff become more and more used nowadays. To me, they were always some of the nicest guitars out there.
Great breakdown

I immediately thought of Soundgarden on that second riff. Then you said Spoonman. No doubt!
I have a 7 string and the tuning I have been playing with on it is G, D, A, D, G, B, E. Perhaps you could talk about it a bit in a future video?

Ok I’m gonna follow you for when I get an electric
Time to get my Shinedown on
You're forgetting the most used one.. the pedal style riff. 000D and then riff on the A string. Like Unholy confessions.
Me: tunes to drop d. *Neil Young has entered the chat*
Surprised he doesn’t have more subs. You actually learn something.
first song sounds *EXTREMELY* Lamb of God, but the last two were both like, 100% Tool
I noticed a bit of Jerry Cantrell style there, would you touch on that in one of your up and coming clips?
Great lessons I just found your channel. What pedal or amp do you get that sound. It’s awesome
Melvins are the drop D goat
1:20 i love Roots Bloody Roots!
I'm gonna add these to my own riffs
Would you PLEASE do a vudeo on this tone?!
Riff 1 - Lamb of God/RATM/Slipknot Riff 2 - Disturbed/Godsmack/Soundgarden Riff 3 - Slayer/Tool/Muse
great!!! How do you come up with interesting rhythms? My best ones are usually purely inspirational... do you have any tools to come up with cool ones? Thanks
Excellente. Does this works with bass too?
If something works, no matter how simple and clichè, its Good.
Love your work as always man... I do have a random question though, what kind of strings do you use? I'm just curious because I've used Heavy Bottom slinkys for a long time and I think that is more of my "Adam Jones Fanboy" thinking and I want to experiment with different gauge strings/brands and whatnot
@axeofcreation
3 жыл бұрын
I'm a slinky man myself as well. I tend to usually use 10s, if I know I'll be playing in strictly Drop D, I'll go a little thicker on the low string.
Nice video

Which size of strings are you using On les Paul for drop D? 10-46 is enough?
What gauge strings are you using sir? Look light. Thanks!
1st riff reminds me of old school Command & Conquer.
