PROPER Persians. They’re gorgeous…and healthier.

I love my Persian. She is the sweetest and prettiest cat ever. Not the smartest though 🤣

LOL Persian cats aren't very smart

My Persian girl is the sweetest baby. A true angel.

We have had three Persians, and all have been doll-faced and kept indoors with good, routine vet care: #1 1989-96 was a silver Persian with copper eyes. She lived 7 years, but she was playing with a brown recluse spider in our house. The spider bit Miss Belle on the tongue and she died very quickly. A lot of venom for an 8-pound cat, and a short distance from tongue to brain. It was heartbreaking. #2 1998-2017 was a tortiseshell Tortie, black and brown with a black points and mask and very spooky copper eyes. Another beauty. Maisy lived for almost 19 years. She died of old age, barely able to move and losing half her weight. She died with us sleeping beside her on the floor, at home, and just hours before we were scheduled to take her to the vet to be put to sleep. Another total heartbreaker. So, so many tears. #3 2018-now is a Himalayan Persian--a Himmie. Hattie Grace is now 4 years old. Real cutie with off-white body, seal-brown ears, mask, and feet, and a fluffy gray-brown tail. To-die-for blue eyes. All three have been about 8 lbs. We did not have a problem finding the first two. However, by 2018 I discovered that doll-faces are becoming rare indeed since 1998. Once the CFA and other associations redefined the "show standards" to conform with the Peke-face cats, well, that apparently is that breeders started breeding. I searched all over the country for doll-faces (which we find cuter and more attractive). I found them, all right--$2,000, $3,500. and out in Missouri, Colorado, etc. You get the picture. Ridiculous! We are not celebrities or cat-show people. Finally, after searching for months, we found a reputable family in Low Gap, North Carolina (close to where we live in Clemmons, NC) who had a beautiful clean nursery, a recent litter all tests and shots and paperwork. Point here is: If you want a doll-face, be prepared to do your research!!!! They are NOT easy to find and at a DECENT price. But whatever you pay, Persian girls are sweethearts and will capture your soul!! (And I grew up as a dog-person!)

I agree with all you said. Doll faced persian cats are just something special.

I don't know why breeders selected the squish faced--the doll face are so much better looking & healthier!

IKR! I prefer doll-facd over squish-face. I have a doll-faced one.

MY GIRL IS VERY SMART AND VERY INDEPENDENT AT 10 WEEKS OLD AND VERY BOSSY.. I GUESS IT DEPENDS ON BREEDER AND OWNER.. THEY'RE VERY SMART AND VERY PROTECTIVE..❤❤😂😂😂

They are more healthier and live longer. They don't have as much breathing issues or other health issues as the more wider flat face Persian. I recently bought one since you can't adopt them here in NYC and I think I was charged too much. I don't think a doll face should cost so much. a

Why anyone would choose a flat-faced monstrosity over a doll-face is beyond me. Simply stunning!

@@sunnysan452 It's true though. Not the cat's fault of course, but we intentionally bred them to have facial deformities that hinder their quality of life

There are *many* pedigreed cat breeds much, much older than the Persian. The Persian got its luxurious, soft coat from the older Angora breed, which is just as soft but infinitely more agile, elegant, and intelligent than the Persian.

Some humans adults still retain their baby like doll faces. I think it was because those adults were nursed for a long time as babies/toddlers. Nursing for a long time does tend to exaggerate the chubby cheeks and snub nose. My 27 year old cousin was breastfed for 3 years and her nose is very small and cute. So there you have it!!!

@@DeIicateFynn it will. It won't need rhinoplasty and that's for sure. It won't need orthodontics as well. Breastfed people have perfect features and as a bottlefed person I feel jealous towards them I'm not going to lie!!

I’m getting 2 Persian kittens..registered, beautiful, wonderful family history and clean kind breeder. One is doll face and the other is flat faced. Both chocolate and adorable. I love both looks. However I actually didn’t look for the doll face first. The look grew on me. I don’t think one is better than the other and being so disrespectful about someone else’s choices in cat preferences is disgusting. I have a preference about people who talk that way, and it isn’t nice. 🥸🙀😉😎
