Lightsabers have been described as having weight in legends to so that isn't Just a Disney thing like so many anti-disney star wars fans do.

@@jamariojackson4289 half of them don't even read most legends books and just use the wiki. At most maybe playing force unleashed 2 and maybe reading one book. It's one of the reasons anti-disney fans annoy me.

@@lunakingsley.7247 Yep that and I’m tired of them hating on the Cal Ketis Jedi games and immediately saying: “TFU was better” or “Jedi: Outcast was better than this POS” I’ve played almost SW games recently, and I find it really hard for any of them to comparable to Fallen Order when it comes to saber combat… let alone Survivor. They just love to hate I guess idk.

@@jamariojackson4289 I find it annoying when they complain about fallen order not having dismemberment while praising force unleashed, even though force unleashed doesn't have dismemberment either (excluding it's dlc, force unleashed 2 is the one with dismemberment in the main game not force unleashed.).

​@@lunakingsley.7247I'm glad to see there are in fact Star Wars fans who don't blindly hate everything that's done by modern Lucasfilm and approved by Disney.

Lightsabers have high inertia. Meaning the force needed to move them is deceptively high.

It was also confirmed by Padme when Anakin let her hold his lightsaber in the Clone Wars series, she said it was heavy.

That's the hilt. A lot of people remark this when they hold a lightsaber hilt. They discover that it's heavier than you'd expect a small tube to be.

@@mar_speedman to be fair both legends and canon has had characters so that the lightsabers get heavier when activated. It just wasn't padme in either continuity.

When i saw the black saber it made me think of how it is difficult to manuver a rapidly spinning gyroscope

Thank God it is not just me who can't see anything when I fight with my lightsabre in the dark!

The hilts have weight. They could be very heavy with the battery.

Regarding that first fact, lights can be blinding and bright, that sure is a realistic thought.

When Jedi use their lightsabers as torches, they usually raise them high in the air, away from their vision. When they're actually fighting in the dark, they're likely using the force to guide them, as said in the video

The explanations about lightsaber weight are, I believe, inaccurate. You're using the darksaber to explain how lightsabers work, and the darksaber works completely different to a lightsaber. Lightsabers aren't 'heavy' or push toward the ground or anything, but they have inertia and generate momentum. They tend toward whichever direction you move them towards, and keep going in that direction, unless they encounter resistance. That's why the Jedi of old twirled their lightsabers a lot. It's a lot easier to change its direction through orbits than it is to try to stop its force directly like you would a regular sword. That's why an experienced Jedi like Anakin relied on orbits, but an inexperienced Jedi like Luke used it like a real sword. And of course, Vader lost his dexterity, but his cybernetic limbs were strong enough that he could more easily stop the lightsaber's momentum directly. That is the information I know and that I believe is correct, though I'm more than happy to be corrected if I was wrong on anything
