I’m a complete beginner and when I read easy in the title and saw the thumbnail I thought that those trees were not easy at all, but I have made the first one and I found it quiet easy actually. Amazing turtorial!

Could you try to explain the general process of creating something like this? Are you thinking about light source? Or just texture and shape? Would love to understand the thought process.

Branches and trunk are the easy part for me. The leaves always mess me up. Either not enough gaps for branches to poke out or the shading is off.

Arborist here. I'd really rethink how you do the branching in the deciduous trees, particularly in that first sketch. Generally, trees tend to have a single trunk which often splits into several main leads. These leads all compete to be the main dominate stem, so they tend to grow upright toward the sun and away from one another. All other scaffold branches, depending on species, typically grow out laterally from those main leads unless the tree is either a columnar variety or one with a weeping habit, in which case they grow out and then downward. As a rule of thumb, limbs closer to the bottom of the tree will be larger in diameter and usually longer. Limbs closer to the top tend to be smaller and shorter. Dead limbs will curl like claws. What you have is a trunk which ends abruptly and just turns into a bunch of sticks with puff balls on the end.

Yo bro. Video is amazing. But I must say that does not look easy at all. I'm a complete beginner and for me this is like a rocket science. But I'll give a try on each tree like 50 times and will see. I understand all this comes with lots and lots of practice but I wish you would do video how to draw a tree for complete beginners. But over all great job mate. I wish i could draw like that.

Though your trees are beautiful. This was not what I considered easy.... You were going so fast and I could barely see what your pencil markings were... Much less try and draw along with you. You are a brilliant artist. Maybe you could do a video for each tree? Or even more complicated trees but go a little slower for us newbies trying to be as awesome as you lol
