I love my eko truth for straight midrange shots. Comfortable in the hand, and very true to how you throw it.
Very cool. Really appreciate the added dimension of drone footage.

Crave is almost as flippy as the river! And I have a fission crave. Finding it hard to justify use of this disc. Thinking about replacing it with a teebird or teebird3 in Star. I used to have a star teebird that was point and shoot. I pointed it and shot it into the pond at Idlewild. Just off the shore in the deep stuff. *sigh* Oh, and if you want a teebird that is almost a River, then get the Teebird in Champion plastic. Super-domey, so throw it smooth or else it will flip, too.
Great video man! I just picked up the River a few weeks ago. I absolutely love it! It has become my primary fairway driver.

Thanks Frets! We love making these videos for people just like you ❤️👍
I still struggle to get a driver much farther than my mid so right now my VRoc is my favorite in the bag. That’s the disc that I get the majority the of the shots that keep me motivated with.

All good! It just takes some time to improve form, but more importantly, it's most likely because you are throwing nose-up. Watch our video called - How to get more distance (to help with this). If however you do want to get a disc with more distance, try to take a look at some 7 speeds :)
Maybe mine is just an understable run, but the river is definitely a -2 if not -3 turn. It is super flippy
@JustDisc
Жыл бұрын
Yeah depends on the run, we tried the disc in the Opto plastic and felt they flew more like they had a 2 fade. In short, whenever you find a run you like, but a few more! 👍
Great video, always cool to see my local courses in videos! Also shout out True North Disc Golf! If you ever want to do a coaching series I know a very bad local who would be down!😁

My buddy who just started playing just had an ace run with my old River, so needless to say he agrees with you! (And now he owns that River)
Latitude 64 Saint is the best combo of distance and control that I know of. And if you throw hard they made the Saint Pro
I’ve hit 350 with faster drivers but the ease of 300+ feet with the river always keeps me coming back to it. It’s my primary do it all driver. Mine seems to be a flippy run but still has miles of glide, I just need to release on some hyzer
Love my river
Really missed Falk... After bad throw didn't found it last summer. K1 plastic is amazing. I used to have river, but it came flippy very quickly🙄
Love my River. Started with it and still in the bag years later.
River is an amazing disc my go midrange is my lat64 fuse I fell in love right away such a straight disc with good distance
Love the Falk!

Excellent taste Sean 😉👍
The River was the first disc I purchased after my beginner set and what my friend who introduced me to DG gave me (Pa4, Lep3, Roc, Valkyrie). I started August of '21. The Escape took a lot of throws away from the River and I've found that my longest disc is an Opto Ballista. I have now just discovered the Prodigy F7 (400). That thing can fly... Almost as far as the Ballista even. Check it out.
I bag both the River and the Falk. I can't recommend Rivers enough...they are my favorite "goto" disc.

Awesome recos! I think I need to try a river in a base plastic as my premium one is surprisingly overstable. It's good for those smooth 65% forehands but a little too stable for my backhand.
@JustDisc

Yeah, we noticed the Opto plastic definitely makes it more overstable. However, they would be ideal for throwing after we’ve broken them in 👍 Just something to think about!

@@JustDisc yeah I just checked I got a Gold Ice. Looks and feels amazing, just a bit too stable for me and it is breaking in extremely slowly. Should have tried a regular Gold or regular Opto maybe.

And to not confuse the average reader, my backhand kinda stinks so maybe the gold ice would be perfect for you, I just need a little more help with getting some turn
Interesting choices. I laughed out loud when you said "Latitude 64 River" because I bought two in opto plastic and one tree hit later I had one roller disc and one that wouldn't do anything. So, if anyone wants these, let me know. They're very pretty transluscent watermelon color. For my money; if you wanted to replace both the Berry AND the River, you could just buy an MVP Hex.
Interesting that they're all Scandinavian discs.🤔
Looks like I need to get me a River! 😂
@JustDisc
Жыл бұрын
For sure Michelle!😁 Just so you are aware, whenever Lindsey was throwing a red River, it was 158g in weight 👍
This came at a good time as I have been thinking of trying a Falk and River. I wonder how the Berry would compare to a Hex as the flight numbers are the same
@JustDisc
Жыл бұрын
My friend has the Hex and he mentions that it's a bit more overstable, at least to start 👍
@10GritSandpaper
Жыл бұрын
Agreed. I have both, and most hexes have less turn than a berry but similar fade resulting in a slightly more stable disc overall. But they're both pretty neutral. In fact, my lighter weight hexes fly just like a berry.
GlowFalkFact: a glow Falk glows brighter under a white light. MVP and Innova discs glow brighter under a uv light
I've never thrown Clash discs, but when I had a mixed bag (I've had a MVP/Axiom bag for a bit over a year now), I had the Falk and River as part of my bag. But I lost my first Falk over a wall onto someone's property and never got it back. Then i sent the second one over a wall on another course and it came back chewn up by a dog. So I got the hint....Falk's are awesome discs, but they don't want to be in my bag.

How did you end up liking the River?
@BillFromAZ
Жыл бұрын
@JustDisc I love the River, it's very straight for me, but doesn't work so well in a head wind. I'm also liking the Saint which is a longer River. The Sidewinder is another fave of mine, I have four of them. Today the River has made it back into my bag and I might be putting the Sidewinder back in.

Very money, that and the Relay is absolutely amazing to I bag both and would feel naked without them...in Michigan we have a lot of wooded courses. It's crazy how easily I can hit gaps with either disc
what kind of monster throws a stable mid with 4 fingers tucked?
Try a s line dynasty amazing brand new but even better when it’s beat in
@JustDisc
Жыл бұрын
We’ll check it out!
Not to nitpick but I think you meant 1 disc round with the Berry and not 1 round disc. 1 round disc either means it's a statement of its shape or you'll only use it for one round and be done with it, whereas a 1 disc round would imply that you will only use 1 disc for that round. Still love the content, I had a river for ages, my buddy had one and beat it understable so this year it's learning to throw rollers.
@JustDisc

Yeah, my wife watched the video before releasing and noticed the error as well 🤪 Thanks for clothing either way 👌❤️
My question: as an older intermediate disc golfer, is it better to carry 7 speeds as a fairway and 9 speeds as distance drivers or since 7 and 9 speeds are both fairway drivers - is that too much overlap? I carry 3 stabilities of 7 speeds and 3 stabilities of 9 speeds. Would it be better to focus on one or the other?
@JustDisc
Жыл бұрын
Hey Paul, loooove this question. Honestly, we don’t think you should ever build a bag or game around speeds. Do what works for you, and screw what anybody else thinks. Do you get anything additional by having the 9 speed discs, or are they there because you just feel you should have them? Do they get more distance? Do they allow for different shot types that your 7 speeds can not perform? If so, keep ‘em! Try to think about what each disc is adding to your game. One way to figure this out is to play a round without your 9 speeds, and another without your 7 speeds. Which gave you better results? During any of your rounds, did you wish you had those missing discs in your bag? And sometimes, it’s just a mental thing. Does having those discs make you feel like you can play better disc golf? Do you feel like your missing parts of your game without those discs? Anyways, hope this helps Paul! 👍
@paulking0512
Жыл бұрын
@JustDisc it absolutely does. When everything aligns, I can get 20 to 40 feet more out of my Escape over my River. Your recommendation of rounds with one or the other is something I will try. Some of my discs are in my bag just because they were in my bag for a while. I seem to struggle with: if I have 2 or 3 good shots with a disc, I leave it in even if, more often than not, I don't rely on it continuously. I want to simplify my bag. Can you do a "building an intermediate bag" segment sometime? There are tons of beginner and pro bag advice but not much for the intermediate player - especially an intermediate player with lower arm speed. I feel older intermediate players (many covid DGers) are criminally underserved online.
@BillFromAZ
Жыл бұрын
@paulking0512 If you really like the River, consider trying the L64 Saint....it is considered the 9 speed River (9/7/-1/1).
New players may find the Maul more suitable than the River.

No talk of plastics - that matters soooooooo much. Innova, for example, try throwing a DX, G Star and Champion in the same mold - they are not the same disc at all.
