Birds of a feather, Big Break, Generation Game, Paul Daniels Magic, Noels House Party, Classic Eastenders, Christmas TOTP. What a great line up compared to the shower of shite we get now.

Well, apart from Birds of a Feather, Big Break, Noel's House Party, Eastenders, and Paul Daniels who was about 10 years past past his sell-by date by 1993.
Christmas 1993 BBC 1 threw so much money & effort into their output and presentation, as they knew the new ITV franchises & network were not going to bother with Christmas specials in 1993, BBC were intent on showing that licence fee payers money being well spent at juggernaut shows on BBC One and BBC 2 at Christmas 1993, & it worked!
20 year old Doctor Who repeats on BBC1? Those were the days.
What a brilliant trailer!! Astonishing work for the time. 1993 was a brilliant year for BBC Christmas presentation on both channels.
Mr Blobby had a surprising amount of self-restraint for actually playing the piano instead of just mashing all the keys
I remember that trailer. Must have been shown lots because at school, my friend/s could remember all the words and sing it!

@@johnking5174 You put 2 point 2 Children, but the programme was 2 point 4 Children... unless there was a weird spin off that I don't remember?

Show me the whole 90s vibe in 2 minutes
1:25 It wouldn't be a trailer without the BBC1 1985 Christmas Ident shooting Noel Edmonds
I remember that trail. Happy times, facinating to be reminded who was "hot" at the time. Thanks for posting.
For people of a certain age, this is the absolute peak of end-of-the-pier BBC. Regardless of whether you liked the shows in question or not, and I don't think they've generally aged very well, this promo is practically perfect.
I loved those repeats of Planet of the Daleks
Thank god for vhs.

Unfortunately, you have the wrong answer. It is David Allan the announcer.
The " Good Fortune " trailer seemed to be on a lot as well!
I was 6 when this was happening but I knew nearly everyone in this back then. I not sure who the backing singers at the beginning are. I’m guessing they are Linda Dobson and Pauline Quirk from Birds of a feather which I never saw.
