3 Days Solo Bushcraft in the Rain - Catch and Cook
3 days bushcraft and canoe trip in the rain with fishing, cooking, portaging. A re-edit from last year with added recovered footage from corrupt SD card, restored audio etc. Finally got time to do this because this was an awesome outing that never got the views. Thanks for watching!

Agreed, you have taught me so many new bush craft skills and most important how to be comfortable being in my own company and not fear being alone.😌
What a fantastic trip! The fishing looked very active as well. Many people I know think camping in the rain is beyond their comfort level. I don't mind it, particularly at night. It can be quite a calming lullaby, provided it isn't a harsh storm. Your first night camping on saturated, boggy ground must have challenged your own comfort zone, and had you carefully selecting your sleeping setup for the trip. I'm not sure I have anything I would trust a night to under those conditions, and expect my gear and myself to stay reasonably dry through the night. It looked like you picked well, and your gear worked! Not long ago, you had mentioned not being sure where to take the chanel, and that you felt you were at a crossroads. I recently shared a hospital room with a 93 year old man. He was untalkative, bitter, and rather unpleasant to everyone. I was watching some of your early videos, thinking the silence would not attract his attention, but he heard the nature sounds and wanted to know what I was doing. I showed him what I was watching and at first he was dismissive and even irritated, but began asking "well, now what's he doing?" I brought my phone over so he could see for himself. 10 minutes of watching, he was chuckling, asking if I saw what you just did, pointing at the screen when weather came in, you crafted something clever, or had one of your fantastic meals. He would tell me snippets of his time in the wilderness when he was younger, and point out situations in your videos that were similar to his own, in the past. Your videos completely transformed him. We had your full library queued as a playlist and we would just watch and chat when the staff were leaving us alone between doctors rounds, being sent for tests or treatment, or when neither of us had visitors at the time. While I would still never call him "friendly" he certainly became more talkative and likeable. By the third day, staff were noting changes and improvements with him. I got his son as a new follower of your chanel so he can continue watching with his dad after I was done and discharged. I believe I commented to you on your crossroads video that you may feel things had reached a point where you were seeing the similarities, but we were seeing the differences in your videos, or something to that effect. I thought you might like to know the difference it made in someone else. Particularly during a low time for them that they really benefitted from your work. It may not be the purpose you sought for in starting this amazing chanel, but your chanel does indeed serve a purpose my friend. So, once again, thank you. From me, and my short term roommate. 👍

Thank you Swedwoods. Another excellent adventure.

It's a good idea to put the canoe on top of the tent to keep it out from the rain. it is difficult to burn fully for Wet firewood and even the resulting smoke can get in the eyes.

I miss him
I went deep sea fishing one time and caught a 7kg polic. I brought it back to my Girl Friend and her kids It took over an hour to clean, only thing I had to work with was a small dull hunting knife . When I was finished we Put in in her freezer. They ate fish for a long time . It did not go to waste . Personally I don't like Polik , but those kids sure did ! Where I come from We call those fish You caught Pikeral or Pike Personally I like fresh water fish . DML.

@ Mike Over in my area ( Massachusetts) it was either polik or haddock as the main staple for fish. I grew up nearby Newburyport which is right on the coast, so, seafood was kind of the thing. When I was little, my dad took me deep sea fishing on his small boat & I caught a sand shark which we did cook & eat. It was the 1st time I ever had it & it was pretty good but my dad could cook almost anything.
And just like that, Im craving some fries 🍟 haha. Great video brother.
