Overall pretty good and enjoyable watch. Some constructive tips for those who whish to try this themselves: 1) If you want wood that is in contact with moisture to last much longer, char the outside of the wood or use pitch. Bare log footings and walls against the soil will rot and attract insects very quickly. I would use plastic vaper barrier or even tarpaulin behind the walls, especially on the uphill wall. 2) You also need a floating floor that has an accessible hatch for a drainage pit beneath to hold any potential water that may come into the shelter. This keeps your false floor dry and can be bailed out if necessary. It's also a good temperature to store food when it's dry. You can't just build an above ground structure, under ground (which is what this seems to be). It won't withstand the constant contact with moisture. I give it two years max before the constant water and mud on the floor causes you to abandon it.

Beautiful joinery! It is not a small trick cutting those boards thin enough to slide into that groove he cut into the support timbers. Plus the round ends to those posts had to fit into less than an inch hole it seems, by the size of his drill bit he was using unless he used several sizes. The Japanese make awesome wood joined houses, and use large rectangular or triangular pegs to slide into holes into both timbers. Twice the work, but really effective against earthquakes. Still it was very well joined.

One of the capping beams split on driving it on the peg. Good idea, requires a ton of work. In my opinion, in one respect I like the stability of slats slid down groves in support columns. On the other hand, this is a dugout where the moisture from the ground will seep through and warp the boards and over the long term, not last.

Yes this is probably fake, but almost everything he's doing is possible to do (with years of work by skilled craftsmen) and the only thing not done in any culture is the wall board idea but honestly that's just an absolutely brilliant idea that I think it could work in like a recycled wood cabin, like TA outdoors wood pallet cabin

Yes, the most wall panels are from old wood pallets, probably (nail marks, different wood structure with a clear boarder on some panels). This is definitely fake about panel making with this technology for the the real time. The origin of the wide panels for the bench is most strange. And more - he cuts down a dead dry trees, but they look alive after removing the bark.
