3 Days Hiking Mt Arthur Area, Kahurangi National Park

On this 3 day tramp, I explore the popular Mt Arthur and Tableland area in Kahurangi National Park. Starting from the Flora carpark, I pass Flora Hut and the awesome, unique rock shelters on my way to the open tussocklands that surround Balloon Hut. The next day I return south, passing by Salisbury Hut on my way to summit Mt Arthur via Gordon's Pyramid. I couldn't resist a detour to Ellis Hut, before spending my second night at Mt Arthur Hut. It was an epic trip through some stunning country.

Another banger mate. Those shelters are something else. Heading up the Ruahines tomorrow so always great to see a new vid from you to get a bit of motivation. Thanks for taking us along and can't wait for the next adventure. Keep em coming. 👍

Wow, again what an epic blue-sky day. Amazing the birdsong around Flora, the people caring for it have done a great job trapping. It never ceases to amaze me, but perhaps except for trail runners, you’re the fastest-moving thing in the park, no one could keep up with you. That tablelands area and tussock are so different from bushwalking. Pretty. It was interesting seeing Ballon Hut, I’ve never gone past Salisbury. I think that Gordon's Pyramid track always starts in the cloud, but often clears, just as it did for you. This walk is also great to do in winter (tho Mt Arthur is tricky). You’re king of the world up there. I can’t believe after that day your brain even contemplated that 600m trip to Ellis Hut, you must have started the day at 6am or something. There is something different about that brain and your legs!! 😉 You did a great job converting your holiday into all these videos, this one made me particularly happy.

Nice observation with the trapping. Had a great yarn with a volunteer at the Flora carpark. There's good work going on there. Stunning area, and Mt Arthur would be the perfect day walk from Flora carpark. Haha, it was a great day and I'm glad I made the most of it. Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the kind words
