My problem when I get skunked is that I’m fishing lure I want and not the baits I should be fishing or what the fish want.

Oh my goodness! Yes! I'll get to the lake and want to fish a certain style of bait or technique and then have to check myself if it's just not working that day.

Thanks for this video, Tyler! I spend WAY too much time fishing the same spot and using the SAME soft plastic fat albert in my favourite dam. I will follow your advice here but will have to internalise the idea of moving after 15 to 20 minutes. I KNOW this but still do it! Thanks for a great channel. My confidence bait is a soft jerkbait...ALWAYS have 1 tied on... megabass sleeper gill swimbait, and a wobblehead soft plastic craw will be utilized alot this year...can't forget a wacky rig senko type bait either

I agree with 110% on the dropshot. Definitely my go to when all other lures seem to not be producing. 7 times out of 10 that dropshot will get bit.

I was at fork the other day, couldn’t get a bite to save my life. Finally moved off a spot I caught em before and boom, a 6.5 then a 7.2 back to back on the same bank. Sometimes that’s all it takes. Great vid Tyler!

Been getting skunked a lot lately. Sometimes i think I stick around areas too long. Was having a killer few months back from maybe July right up to December but since this new year has started I’ve been having a tough time. Caught one 5 back in January and one 4 in February but other than that it’s been either dinks or skunk

What do you think about Texas rigging a lizards

I don’t personally use them a lot but that’s not because they don’t eat them. I think lizards are great and they can be super effective

Part of the reason us bank fishermen stay in one spot so long is, the wind direction. I fish with the wind at my back because, it's very tough fishing with the wind in your face or with having a big bow in your line when the wind blows from either side. Not my choice where I fish from the bank until they install domes over the lakes.

Just figured out the fish are right there at the wind i use a spinning reel throw a senko a small spinner fast a swimbait or dropshot right at the wind and catch them from the bank

If I haven't caught a fish 10 to 15 casts it's time to change something: speed, cadence, cover, depth, color, bait, location. That's the theory anyway. And as a wise philosopher once said "in theory there's no difference between theory and practice BUT in practice there's a huge difference between theory and practice!"

Showing the rod gloves on your rods would be a better option in advertising. Just a suggestion

If you spend 15-20 minutes in one spot on a pond do you move or change baits and try the new bait for 15-20 minutes?

Before this my main strategy to avoid a skunk was crappies and bluegill

After getting skunked the last few times out, I went out today with the mindset described in this video, and caught several. You’re the man Tyler.

I just got mine in the mail heard they were good 🤔

The worst I ever got skunked was drawing a boater with forward facing sonar. You can't catch nothing but small short fish behind one of these guys. It's worse than being front ended.

Step 1 , weightless fluke

rule #1 don't cast off your lures

Fish docks, you can't get skunked, always bass under docks somewhere.
