My mom makes an apple cake that is absolutely magnificent! It is made with grated apples and it's baked in a loaf pan. It is very dense and heavy and so incredibly moist. It's really good with whipped cream, but it's wonderful just by itself. It has walnuts in it as well which is a nice addition to the apples. Everyone that tries it always asks for the recipe. She calls it "Raw Apple Cake". She makes it a lot during the holidays and gives it as gifts for neighbors and the mailman etc. I remember when I was a little girl, seeing my mama sitting at the kitchen table grating apples with an old fashioned grater. It sure is easier to make this treat using a food processor! 😉 We live in the Yakima Valley in Washington State and we are surrounded by orchards. We have every variety of apple that you could think of right in our own backyard. We are blessed! I enjoy your videos and have tried several of your recipes. Good old-fashioned home cooking! Is there anything better?
Hey Tammy - it all looks so darn good! My favorite apple dessert is apple crisp: 6 golden delicious apples peeled & sliced. Whisk 1/3 c white sugar, 1/3 c cornstarch, 1 tblsp cinnamon then coat apples. Place in small casserole dish. Dot top with 2 tblsp butter. 1/2 c each flour, brown sugar, original oats (not quick), butter, chopped pecans, 1-2 tsps cinnamon. Mix & crumble over the apples. Bake 375F 40-45 min, then lower heat to 350 and bake addl 20 min. If top does not look crisp, put under broiler for a few minutes. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream. The kitchen smells Gorgeous when it is in the oven!!! ♥️

I made an Apple Walnut Cake for a church potluck this week and folks loved it! One lady told me she took home 4 pieces of it! It was really good (a Southern Living recipe which I substituted walnuts for pecans), and I used apple pie spice in the cake and in the glaze. I prefer that spice to cinnamon any time I cook apples.

Those all look amazing! I'm most excited to try the little pies with the marmalade. I bet that combo is delicious. My Granny used to make hand pies with pie crust. She made all kinds- apple, peach, apricot, etc., but I don't ever remember her mixing flavors like that. Can't wait to try it. Yum!

Hi Tammy, these desserts look so yummy! My Mama made the best apple pies in the world!! Her crusts were so flaky & delicious. And I agree with you, those pre-made crusts come close to her homemade with a whole lot less work. Great video ~ I’m going to try those little apple roll ups! 😊 🍎
I just spent the last week canning several batches of apple pie filling, different size jars, use 3 different apples (I also picked the apples). Grab one off the shelf and I can create any one of your delicious looking desserts, or one of my own in a flash, apple turnovers a favorite, it makes it so easy. That cobbler looks like a winner, might try that with a puff pastry on top.
Every apple recipe will be fantastic. I’m going to make these next weekend. I love your apron it’s so cute! Have a blessed week love ya❤
It wouldn't be the fall without some type of apple desert. My mother used to make a recipe she called Apple Brown Betty with apples and, I believe, rice crispy cereal. I need to call my sister to see if she has the recipe.
I absolutely love your videos and cookbooks. I have made so many things from your cookbooks and my family loves the pies. Thank you for sharing your wonderful mother's heritage of fine cooking!

I watch your videos all the time. I'm from Michigan and live in the fruit belt of our state...we call it the "Ridge". So many orchards of apples, peaces, pears, sweet and sour cherries too. Apples are one of my favorites! I have many apple recipes and their all delicious!! I will be trying your recipes as well. We even have an apple festival in September with an apple queen that's voted in by our area fruit farmers. Fun time! And lots of contests of recipes made with apples, too. Have a blessed week!

I always enjoy your videos Tammy. I would try one of these recipes if I just hadn’t made an apple pie a few days ago. But, I did use a little extra lemon juice, dark brown sugar, cinnamon and some corn starch to mix with my Granny Smith apples for the filling. It turned out delicious with that hint of lemon. The only thing I forgot to do was dot the pie with some butter before putting on the top crust. Oh well, we still enjoyed it! 😉 And you’re right, there’s nothing like a good, old-fashioned apple dessert in the fall! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I love how you use your hands to do everything with. To sprinkle the sugar on, mix up ingredients. Some of these cooking shows use tongs to lift everything or a spoon to mix stuff up,,, I still believe your hands are your best tool in the kitchen. Love these recipes. 🙏🏻♥️🙏🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
And who can’t love butter??!!
Absolutely fantastic
