Thank you for showing the JD Backhoe attachment working. What it takes to get started ( Your bucket is clean) you're showing the first dig. I was watching a Contactor delivery of a brand new JD 510s ( brand new model) For underground utilities. He had to dig the first bucket full. After unloading, he scooped a bucket of dirt. Then smiled. He has been first to put a bucket in the ground.

Nicely done, I can hardly wait for mine to get here. Keep the content rolling as I too have watched all of the videos I can find on KZread on the 2038R, 270B, and every other implement I have coming with my tractor package 🤠 I also very much enjoy the views from your farm! I miss the views from the many trailheads that overlook the valley there, Icebox Canyon, Windsurfer, North Ogden Divide going both directions, to name a few… I dearly miss those mountains and the many memories I have exploring them. Cherish what you have and thanks again for sharing.

Thank you! It’s quite the machine. It just turned cold here, but hopefully just for a spell. I’ve got some projects in the works, just not sure how soon I can get to them though! Stay tuned! Thanks for leaving a comment too! Share it with anyone you might think would like it. And where did you move to?

@@NewMoonRanch I’m just east of Oklahoma City now. I left Utah in 2017, but really enjoyed my time there. I got married this spring and we have a nice little 5 acre place. We also have a 100 acre farm about an hour away that my wife inherited. That’s a bit deceiving though. It two 80 acre parcels that are caddy corner to each other. After her dad bought it, the state of Oklahoma put in a flood control reservoir, so there’s only about 35 acres that are dry. The nice part is the house is on the dam side and there’s no building allowed in the flood plain, so we have a great view of the 126 acre reservoir and no other structures in sight. The other 20 acres is about a half mile away and is completely wooded except for a 3 acre, spring fed pond. I downsized from a 5065E so I would be able to transport the 2038R back and forth with a tow vehicle that I already have. The much cheaper implements for the smaller machine made the switch an easy decision for me and was a lot more cost effective for my situation. I’m looking forward to more content 👍

So glad I bought my 2038r when I did. Prices have jumped so much in a short time. If I was to buy mine again, 18 months later I'd pay 10k more for it. The backhoe alone was 3k more. If you have a backhoe, its worth getting a thumb for it! It is SO helpful and makes that 12k investment more worth it.

Thanks for commenting! I definitely plan to get a hydraulic thumb at some point. Yeah, the prices are astronomical. Wish I would have needed/bought this rig a couple years ago!

Right. After the utter chaos of the pandemic it’s hard to know whether to blame the rising costs on either the scarcity of materials/production, price gouging, or the plummeting value of the American dollar. Either way, it cost what it cost at the time, it sucked, and just have to eat it and keep on tractorin! 🤨🙌🏻
