27 - Disaster strikes 4 miles in to a 15 mile road run to the Bloxham Steam Rally.

I thought it would be good to push myself in to a longer road run, and as Bloxham is only 15 miles from home I decided it was a challenge I wanted to take on.
I've also been asked about which rallies I'm taking to Tilly to, so at the moment the plan is -
Rona Rally - 8th-9th July
West Oxon Steam 14th-16th July
Gloucestershire Vintage Extravaganza 4th -6th August
Fairford 19th-20th August
May add to this list, but that's it for now.

Good luck with the collection. It's great to get on to a rally, but best to start applying ASAP.

Slow and steady works in lots of setting but , out on the road , slow and big are better than slow and small .lol Glad you made it , thinking you will get home OK.

Got home fine, thank you 👍 Tyre now fixed and ready for another rally this weekend. Standby for a new video early next week!

Did try the on-site tyre guy. He didn't have any stock :-)
I bet that was fun! I helped with Simon’s big Fowler at Lydiard park, the run to and from was fantastic! You’ve got to be careful with Mr Nuttall and whistles, he seems to be somewhat cursed!😜🤣

Not really too many problems - got to expect a few. All apart from the tyre are sorted already, so all good.

You might be surprised at what is allowed, but you will have to usually jump through a lot of hoops and such to get it on the road. Don't expect much help from the DMV either.

We can refit the tyre. Hopefully before Rona in a couple of weeks.
I am extremely new to anything steam related, what I wanted to ask is, did you make this yourselves or did you buy it somewhere?

how much water coal and steam engine oil did the 15 mile trip take to do please?

I used about a bag of coal - 25kgs. No idea how much oil, but it's very little. Certainly less than 100ml.

Not entirely sure on water as I didn't measure it, but probably 150 litres. She take about an hour or so to get to pressure from cold.

you should get your tires vulcanised onto the wheel they wont come off then

Yeah, been looking at that. Only trouble is that I'll need to repaint the wheels and get them relined. Best way to go undoubtedly, but also expensive.
