20 - I test drive a Foden C Type with Tom from Legacy Vehicles, and we race a train.
Ғылым және технология
I bumped in to Tom Allen from Legacy Vehicles at Statfold Miniatures in Steam 2023, and he offered me the chance to take a look at the Foden C-Type and even have a drive.
We did a full lap of the Statfold site and it's shown here unedited.
The engine is for sale at Legacy and you can see it here - www.legacyvehicles.co.uk/mini...

My good friend built this, watched him build it in his workshop. Nice to see it again. 👍

@@SteamOTR unfortunately I never got a go on this one, the builder is currently building two 6” fowlers, which are huge! Hopefully 🤞 I’ll get a chance on one of those.

Thanks 😊
I've been eyeing that Foden up, although I cant get my head around the fact all Fodens sound too much like a regular engine, especially at speed, trouble is a short throw crank and high speed engine they do and you'll never get away from it, I do like a decent Chuff if you get what I mean (ooo err Mrs's ) . Mind you thats got some speed on the road I'd say, would munch the miles on a road run. I must not drop Tom and e-mail and ask the diamentions and weight...... I REALLY must not

I was the same. Left me cold. I now think they're amazing! Probably not the thing for me as they lack the basic beauty of a traction engine, but if I was going to have a stable of engines I'd have one in there for sure.
