This one is local again but a new route I haven't tried before. Leaving from Keyhaven, out to Needles, Follow S Coast to Freshwater then overland to the head of the Yar before following the Yar to the N Coast and back to the start.
The route means crossing the shipping lane twice as well as some some paddling against the tide (if going around in one shot like we did). So definitely one to consider and plan carefully if you are to try it.

Ahh man, what a day and what a beautiful scenery ! Good effort guys 👏👏 and that swell in the end looked little threatening..

Yes, the cliffs around here are always a great backdrop. The swell was more of a confused chop than swell. It kicks up a bit when the tide is flowing fast like this day. Alone its quite manageable but with wind against it it can quickly get unpleasant.
Another great looking trip - on my tick list now! How long were you out for?

Hi Ian, We were paddling for 4 hours and another hour off the clock for the walk / sandwich. We enjoyed this one as a nice change from the norm. These cliffs are always a great backdrop for a paddle.
Nice route. Would love to do that.

50th? I thought he'd past that a while ago 😅. I just turned 52 the other day . Looked a bit lumpy on the return.
