Does Wailea resort let you in without booking the room to swim in the pools or no? Or you just have to pay for the pool? We have same here on the Big island where you don't have to pay to get in to resort, you can walk around but you have to pay for the pool. So I was wondering about the Wailea resort. :) Love your videos! So much info :)

thanks for watching! at this time you have to stay there. Only a few hotels are starting to do pool passes again.

My wife and son stayed there back in July 2019. We love that resort it was perfect. It was our last vacation together. Who would of ever thought it would be our last, rest her soul. Kids and I went to Kauai in July of this year and we are going to Maui in December for two weeks. My wife’s favorite islands. This August will be a year with out her. I think traveling the world is how I will remember her because that’s what she loved to do.

Love Maui. Though I am partial to the West Side, each vacation there always seems to include at least a few nights in Wailea- though usually at Andaz. Always great getting to see you guys enjoy a much needed break.

It is worth a visit as it is nice to spice things up.

Last time we stayed here back in March 2019 you could relax in the infinity pool and watch the humpback whales breach off the coast. So awesome!

We love that resort! Adjacent to Wailea Shops! Also attended their amazing luau Te Au Moana. BTW, your ohana is beautiful, especially your kaikamahine Edith! Mahalo for sharing your great videos!

no he doesn't unless we go to a grocery store, restaurant, etc. He has tough feet!

We did a luau there last week and when we saw that adult infinity pool we said we need to stay here next time we come to Maui!

The luau looked like a lot of fun! It is a great location! Yes, worth going for that infinity pool and there is a bar at the pool too...

I’ve never been to Maui but I’ve been to Kona and Waikiki beach in Honolulu. I had so much fun but Maui looks fun! Also we did the manta ray night dive which was fun! Love ur videos!

Thanks for the comment. Glad you’re staying. The activities are included but not food. Hawaii doesn’t do all inclusive resorts as they want you to go out and explore the island!

Henry has zero fear of water! Will he be going to kindergarten this fall, or does he have another year? It is going to come as quite the shock to the system, because he has had one heck of a kick butt childhood. 🤙 Edie was just so stinkin' cute with those flowers! 🌺🥰

We were there in the late spring. The hotel was full though as there was a large yoga conference in attendance. It has large grounds so doesn't feel crowded.

Great Video! Very informative. I need a favor though. Help me decide...Thanksgiving week with my family, 16 and 10 year old boys, and my folks coming...Looking at this Marriott vs Grand Wailea and/or Fairmont resorts? Right now this one looking great.

Grand Wailea and Fairmont have construction. You don't notice it but Grand Wailea has been having parts of the pool closed.

Thank you for the video! My husband and I are booked in here shortly. How do you book the boat trip and activities? Do they book up fast? Also wondering about pool chairs. Lots of places allow people to throw a towel down to “reserve” the best spots at 6am and then no one comes back until 11am. So frustrating.

they don't allow pool chair saving as I agree, I don't like that. They will give you access to The Hub, their booking tool when you make a reservation. It is easy to book but book more than 3 days in advance during the busy season as they can fill up.

Would you recommend bringing DJI Mini 3 on vacation? Always wanted to buy a drone and a trip to Hawaii would probably be the best reason to buy it but not sure if I can actually use it at lot of places. Thinking about doing Maui for 5 days and maybe 3 days on either big island or Oahu for reference

I wouldn't recommend it. The weather can make it hard to fly. if you haven't flown a drone before or don't know where to fly legally, then I wouldn't recommend doing it in Hawaii

Hey guys, great video as usual, my wife and I are heading back to Oahu and Maui in February of 2023, I have a question in regards to Pearl Harbor, we did the tour of the Arizona but that’s when the ramp system was damaged and we weren’t able to get on the memorial. My question was,is there a tour which we only can go to the Arizona and the aviation museum available? Thanks.

During our tour, our guide was able to help us move through the historical sites at a different pace than the rest of the folks on the tour to help with filming. You can talk to your guide (hint, tip nicely) to see if they can have you spend more time at PHAM. @@TheHawaiiVacationGuide Hey Guys, like I said in my previous response my wife and I are coming back to Waikiki in February for 4 days and we wanted to go back to Pearl Harbor, the day we chose was February 21st. I spoke with Hawaii tours yesterday and unfortunately they do not do that tour on Tuesdays, can you recommend another tour group since they cannot accommodate us. Thanks Steve & Lori.

Your closing shot, you launched from your hotel room? I've always wanted to do that, but was worried about trying to land back on the balcony, also worried about how the hotel management would feel. How did you manage that? Did you have to turn the sensors on your drone off? Thank you!

I did it in the morning when no one was on the path and took it slow. The auto mode took it straight back. My drone is very quiet also.

They don’t have pool passes for non guests at this time. Few places do right now

It is one resort with three pools. Two of the pools have infinity sections with ocean views. The #2 highlighted pool is the main adult pool. Thanks for watching as always!

Is the kids club good and safe? We are planning to go in Feb 2023, with a 6 yr old and a 1.5 yr old. Want to make sure it’s safe to leave them there while husband and I get a few hours of lone time at the adult pool.

It is good. We met kids who had been at it for ten days and loved it. Check the age as many don’t let kids less than five.

I am staying here in a month and I have been told that you have to pay for the outrigger and kids club and the prices are insane. Was this not the case when you stayed?

Omgoodness, Maui is not a stay vacation for 99% of us, lol We're at Ventura, California beach today, not a resort we have sand and waves!

the tight curls grew out to wavy hair. We hear from a lot of parents that it is common. we never cut the curls so we got to see the change when he was 3
