Yes, that’s right 2214Y is for sale. The number one question everybody has on their mind is why am I selling it? Well, it’s time to move up. You have all come with me on my journey of ownership with this airplane and watching every single upgrade that I’ve made to it till now, and the truth is that I have simply outgrown this airplane. I love this airplane and it is an emotional event for me to part with it. However, I need something that goes higher flies faster and goes farther.
I have had some amazing adventures in this airplane, and even the fact that I had to replace the spar and it didn’t really get me down. Infact this airplane is now better and stronger because it has a new spar that is in perfect condition, and I am confident in every aspect of safety for the next owner.
You know, all of the upgrades I have made to this aircraft. The engine was overhauled in 2021 and it has 249 hours on a newly overhauled Lycoming 0320 - 150 hp. And it has a powerflow exhaust. Also a Garmin 355 GPS the 345 transponder the 2G fives and the new interior are all documented on this channel. This aircraft is a fantastic first plane for that pilot who has just gotten their private and wants to go all the way through to commercial you can do it all in this airplane.

Now, as far as the spar replacement work, and the safety factor of this airplane, I want to ensure you I have taken every measure possible to ensure this plane is safe for the next owner.

Holy..i remember when it's engine was replaced a few years ago when I was still doing my O levels..now I've finished my A levels. I totally understand why it's emotionally significant fo you, it should be. Hope your next plane will take you to many more adventures!

I'm loving my 177. I've had 7 airplanes, and my 180hp 177 is really the sweet spot. I'm sure yours will sell quickly.

I remember not being able to practically give away a 68 177 just over 10 years ago and it was a nice one. Some nice additions here but holy moly I never saw this market coming. My mistake.

This would be headed toward Texas if I was able to find a local hangar. It is insane with how high the demand for hangar space is here in the Houston area, especially on the north end. I've been on a waiting list for over two years at three different airports. My first airplane was a 69 Cardinal. My most recent plane was an A36 Bonanza. I'd love to finish my airplane owning career with 2214Y. I'll weep myself to sleep tonight. Good luck.

@@kevingreen7644 I would, except for the fact that I recently moved out to Conroe. I had one of those partnerships, once. I had heard about how awful they could be. Fortunately, the one that I was a part of could have been a textbook case for perfect. Both of us kept the plane in "like new" condition. There was never a dead bug or a tiny bit of oil/fuel spill that could ever be found when one opened the hangar doors. I hope that you find someone to partner with that treats your next plane exactly like we did ours.

I was fortunate and found a home for my 177B at Conroe earlier this year. It’s a crazy world, but it really pays to secure hangar space where you need it and then look for an airplane…
Maybe I should bring it back to VKX
Really nice plane. It’s probably out of my price range.
