I'm assuming that the head gasket wasn't up to operating temp yet, allowing it to leak. This engine runs pretty hot so i'm sure that it's engineered that way. The SR-71 blackbird would leak fuel during take off and had to be refueled once it was airborne. Engineering is amazing.

@dalesalsa if you really look at it...the beautiful thing about this is the relative low tech vs functionality that NRE does. Quality parts and obviously...god-like machining skills. This really dont have nearly all the gizmos and electronic garbage like most supercars have.Drop this puppy in a Bugatti Veyron or any top level hypercar...that would be truly scary! I dig NRE. Ever since i watched the RX-7 from hell, ive been hooked.Id definitely throw a Buick Grand Nat. his way someday.

  • @Boyneedsgames

TopFuel engines would normally have this if they weren't solid blocks. They are pretty much hydrolocked during their 4 second life. A good way to remove this issue is to hace the head be a machined part of the block, but then there is no way to cool the cylinders.

What is leaking at 00:10 ? I think he blew the headgasket, looks like coolant spraying from the rear right of the block, LOL. And i just barely see something on the left side of the engine, towards the front at around 00:20 . Still jealous though.
