These days 7.2.6 is possible, with the Denon X6700 but I am not sure it's worth it if the room is relatively small. Maybe if you change the angles, put the Front and Rear Height at 30° Elevation and the Top Middle at 90° that might be worth a try...

Never ending redo's or is that what you like. Black roller shade masking for 2.39 films may be a answer for gray bars problem.

Digging the new seats. I might have to include those in my theater.

I love the videos please keep them up. You definitely keep me motivated to continue to work on my setup. In terms of your surround speakers have you thought about bringing them down closer towards the height of your LCR. I know your dealing with the constraints of your room but the distance from your rear bed speakers and your height speakers is too close. Try dropping them down as a test when you have the time.

twistacatz i'm glad you enjoy the videos! i did recently move the rear surrounds down a touch & toed them in which made a huge difference. once i get this drywall sanded & painted i'll have my first listen and see what i think. the good thing is that everything is fixable. even though dealing with drywall is messy it's not that big a deal. what's interesting is if you look at dolby's 7.1.6 layout the rear height & rear surrounds are nearly in the same position, however the height is higher obviously. and yes, agree about possibly lowering the surrounds in general. i'm also not thrilled with my l/r surround speakers, might try another pair of the same rear surrounds and mount on the same articulating mounts so i can aim them at the seating better.

​@@aaromon43 , I hear ya on that. I feel like you don't have to even make any holes for testing (obliviously). You can just pick up some speaker stands or uses boxes or books. I would try to lower those wide and surround speakers so that they are slightly above ear level and that each seating position has a line of site to all the speakers (or not if most of the time it's just you in the theater, which could allow for even lower placement). I strongly believe that little bit of drop could create the separation to bring your atmos height layer to life. The other thing I would consider and I know this is cost prohibitive but I would look at PSA for surrounds. I can't speak for the speakers that you are using, but I strongly believe you gain by having ALL of your speakers timbre match or from similar components. PSA has the 60 day trail as well so if your not feeling the speakers you could always return them. Just some thoughts... BTW what's you handle on AVS?

U can use the centre in ceiling speakers as a (voice of god) speaker in aura 3d

Ahmad M AlMutairi you can’t. An AVR won’t process them like that, hence why I had to add a further 2 speakers to total 15. The AVR then auto switches between them depending on the audio format you desire to use. Auro3d will turn top-middle left and right off, and engage the top centre.

I’m due to do a video on my previous 7.2.6 going to 7.2.8 and why I did it. It will explain a lot. I did think that auro3d would do what you said, but avrs just don’t do it unfortunately.

If your going to scrap the panels, what are the chances of shipping to the uk? I could put them to good use dude😀👍🏻. You get a 13ch AVR in there and you’ll never look back man

The theater still manages to look cool even when it's covered in plastic!! It does seem that all of the rear Atmos speakers will be competing with the surrounds.. might want to space them farther apart if it weren't for the support beams.. 😖 Still, you always make genius solutions to these kinds of problems so I'm looking forward to the next update!

Graham Oliver behr astronomical paint color for walls, black leather seats, not sure on exact color of foam panels, they are a dark grey.
