Everyday I research about mazda cars I’m convincing myself Mazda is along with Toyota and Honda the most reliable vehicles in today’s market

Other reviewers have noted shifting issues with the transmission on these and the 90 suggesting need for a software fix. Toyota: study this interior since you have forgotten what a premium interior should look like even with Lexus, the recently introduced GX being the most shameful example.

Most accurate comment. Mazda interiors are untouchable for their price point. Lexus is a joke. The interiors are 10 years old but the cars are somehow 2024….

Dimensions are exactly the same as the cx90 and so are the prices trim for trim, after Mazda cut prices 3k to 4k.

I am a Mazda fan and I own two now, The material used in this vehicule(cx70) is amazing and top notch, to me better than many Germans, but if you are looking for drivung dynamic and very quick transmission , the best in this price point is maybe BMWs, other than that Mazda is very premuim and far ahead from Hondas Toyotas and kias.

I think a cx80 with a third row delete would have been more appropriate for the US market to differentiate it from the CX90.

I believe the market data actually shows that they hit the nail on the head with this one for the US. More cargo space without a third row and the addition of a more sporty exterior package (bumpers, chrome delete, etc). I think it’s gonna do well.

@@royalty7396 Market data can be wrong and doesn't always translate to real buyers. I am a real buyer in the market for a two row that was anxiously waiting for this to release and was really disappointed they didn't shorten it up a bit and make some changes to the rear end. I didn't care for the bulbous rear end design of the 90 but I understood the reasoning for more third row head room. They had an opportunity to correct that on the 70 without the need for the additional head room but they didn't. Kind of a miss for me. The rear end design of the 60 in Europe is much more sleek and sporty. Other than that it looks great, it just went from being my #1 contender to lower on the list. Currently looking at a Q5 that is basically the same price as the CX-70; so I'd say they missed the mark on the pricing as well because as much as they would like to be a Mazda is not an Audi (although that new interior might fool you). But nobody asked me for my opinion in market research. 🤷‍♂

Still would have preferred an upsized CX50. The 50 has style and presence. The 90 is really just smooth and doesn’t have a signature silhouette like most large vehicles do. Sometimes the body just keeps going and going. Interior, max points

Personally I'm bummed they just took the 3rd row out of the 90 and called it a new vehicle. Seems lazy...and would you not just get the 90 and lower the seats then? You would always have it available. I was eyeing this car thinking it would be a bit smaller. Don't need an SUV the size of an X7 with few seats.

  • @marctipp

Not understanding Mazdas logic with cup holders behind the second row. It just goes to show that the CX-70 is just a CX-90 without a third row. 😑

I read somewhere it’s for marketing purposes. When you look up CX-90, you get results for 3 row SUVs, which you might not be in the market for. But if you look up CX-70, you get results for other 2 row SUVs, where it has best in class (except for the CR-V, that thing has a magic trunk) cargo space.

Yeah it’ll get 30 mpg at max payload capacity in the mountains. Ask me how I know. Your CX-9 will get about 17 under identical conditions… again, ask me how I know. The CX-70/90 is an objectively better car in every metric and once you drive cross country in one you’ll ask yourself why you didn’t trade sooner.
