2024 Specialized Levo SL Review

Спорт

The Second generation 2024 Levo SL is a lightweight carbon framed feast for the eyes. But with a quieter, more powerful motor and a more capable component spec, is this top of the range S-Works worth the £13500 price tag?

    Excellent recap and footage. Especially like the contrast with the Kenevo, which seems like just a larger, more composed bigger brother.

    Have got the comp with a 170 ZEB ult and carb hoops. Came from the 22 Kenevo. Absolutely Love this new bike. Totally agree with mtb+ analogy.

    Recently grabbed a Levo SL Expert after riding analog for 6 years. It's currently my only bike. I ride at 10-30% pedal assist when riding alone as I focus on fitness and will only ride with more assist when riding with other stronger than I am and or with stronger ebikes. The bike rides great and almost feels like a regular bike. My only issue is the mixed wheel size. Not a fan of mullet, wish they had a 27.5in version.

    I have a 2023 SL in Expert. My ONLY complaint is knowing that the Pivot Shuttle SL uses a 60 NM motor. It is only 10 NM more , but that obviously makes a VERY noticeable difference.

    You mentioned the quietness isn't industry leading for lightweight motors. Which motor(s) have you found to be quieter?

    Do you always have the saddle that low when climbing seated?

  • @EMTBPodcast

    @EMTBPodcast

    4 ай бұрын

    I often run my seat around half height on steep climbs to get my weight further forward. I find that is more important than optimum pedalling position. How about you?

  • @harzenduro

    @harzenduro

    4 ай бұрын

    I usually don't have to do that on my Transition Spire. If it's really steep, I go out of the saddle anyways. On an E-Bike that may be different. I thought that you always rode this way.@@EMTBPodcast

    Suggestion is to talk bit more about range - give us bit more idea what "not much range" or "acceptable" means. I mean, did you get 1hr out of it or 4hrs.

    Lots to like here, except the crazy price and the fact that the battery should be just slightly larger even if it added another kilo. I have found that while fun while on the power, I do not like the portly feeling of 50+ lb full power e-bikes and something lighter weight is for sure something that suits my riding style more as I place a higher priority on handling and feel than max pedal assist. So I am not tempted by a full power e-bike and don't plan to ever buy one (unless they can get closer to 40lbs). But the Levo SL or Kenevo SL are tempting, just not going to pay Specialized nutty MSRP.

    In my opinion the weight of an ebike only becomes an issue when the terrain gets really steep. Generally I’m happy on anything under 50lbs but I prefer the feel of a bike with a full powered motor.
