I love that Rolls Royce still has physical controls for most frequently used duties and reasonably sized screens. I wish more mainstream brands would return to this simplicity instead of adding more screens and menus for us to search through while driving.

So, everything that the petrol Rolls Royces of old were but with the benefit of the glorious half-to-an-hour charging stop if you want to take it on a drive. And yes I know that marketing bollocks they’re pushing, that the RR’s owner has their own jet to go the distance etc. Still, it being an EV doesn’t make it any better.

I think initially - but I'd hate to see what happens to luxury vehicles that are mechanically fine but with battery degradation and luxury vehicle small volume future support... it'll be a shame if a car with that much invested in interior and build quality becomes a garage display because the batteries are dead and there's no replacement.

No company is more suited to EV technology than Rolls. They’ve spent decades trying to make their combustion engines behave like electric motors, their cars were already obscenely heavy, and range is of absolutely no concern to their owners. If the trip is more than 100 miles, they’re taking their jet or helicopter.

It’s actually criminal how nice some cars can be. I know I likely will never be able to afford a car like this but to have this amount of luxury in a simple car as fabulous

For a 400K+ car though, I think the interior is starting to look a bit dated. If I'm paying almost half a million dollars I want to feel a bit more special. Sure, the car itself has special attributes, especially externally, but the price is pretty high in my opinion. Obviously its the kind of car that exist for people to spend money on, and its for the older generation, but, I think the 7 series of s-class offers 90% of the RR's luxury while having better designed interiors and tech.

@@t8506 well that percentage was just not true at all lol. more like the top 1 percent but ok. If you seriously wanted this car you could. I have seen plenty of people with ridiculously priced cars with a 200k dollar house just because the car was the only thing they ever cared about. Most people can afford a 800k dollar house. Ok so 500k for this and 150-300k for your house. Might seem crazy but people like cars enough to do this wether you want to believe it or not. and look up how many people are in that 1 percent or how many people own a Rolls Royce. probably a decently big number. you think when they were younger and told people they'd have a rolls Royce people believed them? no. think elons musks family would've believed him? no. but he made it happen. Elon musk, Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates are no different from you and me and they could buy hundreds of these. It's nothing impossible if you have the motivation but clearly you never will with that mindset

audio system is stellar, I genuinely heard instruments I never did in the sample played in other car reviews as well. The sonic range is alive and separation is highly defined while the bass isn't punchy it definitely is present, crisp and detailed.

I once had near zero pedal driving in a Mercedes S class, the distance control was so good that it took care of accelerating and braking all on its own. It would smoothly stop at a red light as long as there was another car in front of me. I'm not a fan of fully assisted driving but for your typical stop-and-go in city traffic it's really nice to have.

Yes, this one appeals to me. I've always loved how quiet they are inside. The wider grill is such an improvement. Interior design and user-friendly cockpit and controls for once are not garish. It does make a statement of subtlety. I tend to carry only 1 passenger so rear legroom is not a concern. For the most part it's just me. Sold. 🎉

The recording of the bass in the sound system test made my headphones vibrate! Damn! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

It's pretty wild how different RR Coupes feel from other cars. I haven't felt a Spectre, but I've driven the Dawn, Wraith, and Cullinan - I'm guessing by what you said at 13:50 that it still has that completely different feeling from other cars. It feels like you're driving a small boat being pulled on pavement and gliding through the road, and the steering is so light that it doesn't even make sense. You can steer the car with your pinky pressed on the wheel. It takes a few moments for the different feeling to sink in, your brain is kind of like "Are we driving a car right now?". All that being said, I gotta say, I hate that instrument cluster. I think they should have kept what they had in 2023 - the instrument clusters was so bright, almost looked like crystal/diamond, and it had a retro luxury feel. To go to a display like that just makes it feel like BMW had too much to do with it.

ooooooo, that cold start. wow, the exhaust engineers really did a great job on that one. the note is so smooth yet aggressive. nice low consistent growl and minimal drone. Reminds me of the LC500.

I’m no designer but common sense says rear light’s design is not beautiful and in proportion to the whole design! they could use light bar too which is more timeless and sort of trend.

This is the first EV that I (if I ever were to afford one) would appreciate. It fits with the luxury platform.

Ahh, Rolls Royce. One of the classiest and most elegant luxury car brands ever, like my old '94 Benz C-Class sedan I drove. Also, the Concorde airplane. Nostalgia. 👌

This is more like a Wraith successor to me because of the similar body design. I wish Rolls Royce offered full non leather interior options across all their models.

I think an EV Rolls makes a lot of sense with all the torque and silence of an EV. People and business having these have a garage, so they will never sit with the ''peasants'' at the public charging station. They're also used to chauffeur people around town, so range will never be an issue. I wonder if clients will dig it or prefer the classic aspect of the silky smooth V12.

I personally would rather have 4 doors I really hate having to move the seat just to get a freaking passenger seat. But I really love the interior besides the fact it looks claustrophobic.

this and the lucid air is the ONLY EV car i would buy at the moment. i love that rolls Royce made it look like a actual car. all these brans are making electric cars and they always looks futurey and just absolutely ugly they need to make them look like actual cars and people would buy them more.

Its definitely a sunday cruiser, (if i owned one of these) i could imagine myself just using it every weekend to do a little joyride or maybe take it grocery shopping or some sort

If one is in the back seat the head rest on front seats are always in the way. There needs to be another design I think ❤❤😂

Weirdly enough, this car seems like one of those "last car you'll ever need" sort of cars, but people who can afford them tend to trade them in for the new ones every year and rarely use them or drive them themselves.

I’m not so sure about that. The RR owners I’ve met (granted it’s only a few) absolutely adored them and drove them as much as possible. Even over flying bc they were so enjoyable.

These type of ultra-luxury vehicles had all the appointments AND a twin-turbo V12 or the like. Now there is almost ubiquity between the powertrain and other EVs, so you're essentially paying a half mil for..... leather and reclining seats and such. Significantly less differentiation between 'lesser' brands and this. A risk I'm sure their executives are aware of.
