Thanks for your Germanic perfectionism about keeping the vehicle clean for your review, Thomas. I just viewed Marquez Brownlee's review of the Spectre and the car is completely filthy! He said 'meh, sorry', but he's got a whole team of support staff that could have washed the car. Thomas, don't get so successful that you don't care anymore!

Yeah it's crazy how he left the car get so filthy, they should have filmed at the dealership or in a special location set by rolls, after that he could have driven it all he wanted and get it as dirty as possible, but it's like they forgot they have to shoot a video, tbh with such car you'll just want to drive it and nothing else 😂

It's ironic that since Rolls Royce very beginning the company has engineered vehicles to be as smooth, silent and comfortable as it was possible for any technology to allow. And along comes the capable energy dense battery, which the electric motor has also been waiting for, for over a 100 years, and suddenly we have what RR has been seeking all the time.

I am not so fond of RR, but i admit this is a peace of art from any angle. Amazing craftsmanship! 😊😊

I have identified at least one Rolls Royce part in my BMW, the trunk closing buttons :D And next time change the roles for trying the safety feature of the door closing :p

The rear view being attached to the door means you can't see behind you as you open the door. I suppose if you hit someone getting out of a Rolls Royce, you're automatically in the wrong.

Great review Thomas beautiful car and although that price makes you reach for the smelling salts I would have one in a heartbeat , better do the eurolottery.

That front is beautiful. It’s a modern version of FAB1 from Thunderbirds. You could imagine Parker behind the wheel, her Ladyship in the rear.

I don’t have 535k, but it has physical buttons. Would I take out a massive loan for physical buttons? Yes. If they’d ditch the leather AND I knew for sure that the world was ending so I didn’t have to pay off that loan.

The dashboard wood is definitely a plus, but I think the glossy black touches here and there is cheap. The control stick in the central console could have been metal throughout

I'm surprised every Rolls Royce isn't built with reclining rear seats with ventilation/heating and massage.

This car is nice inside and outside I would love to see other colors

Unfortunately our place in NW Thailand has pretty terrible electricity supply (stormy weather can knock it out for 3 or 4 days at a time), and the nearest public charging is 90 km away in Chiang Mai . . . Otherwise I'd be adding one of these to my Lottery Win shopping list. Never mind - I can entertain myself on the RR configurator.

WELL: If you don't have a Half a Million Dollars, the BMW i7 is a great buy as well. You get pretty much the same driving experience, plus a 30 inch TV in the backseat.

i7 VERY different car.

I know the reason at least MB had big stearing wheels for a long time even after power assist was standard. You will experience why if you hold your arms straight out in front of you for a longer period.. and then repeat the same thing but with your hands close together.. You will feel the difference in strain.

Continental began as a Rolls b4 it was a VW.

Whether you are in a car showroom or the Apple Store, vegan materials (13:45) are now the default request for customers today concerned about the environment/animal welfare. Paradoxically the meat industry themselves have created the glut of unsold leather globally causing the price & demand for leather to collapse. Thank you Thomas for your principles on animal welfare.

Well, Rolls customers never are distant to their destinations. If so, they just need to commute till their private jet, a couple of miles away. The limited entertaining thing is smart enough. To drive it should be enough entertaining by itself. This thing, however, is far from being as perfect as half a million actually is: I don't see the Cohiba cutter and lighter with its customised air cleaning system. Champagne neither. But, all right, it seems adequate for invalid. Maybe with some additional adjustments for autonomous driving. Final note: I like the suicidal doors. Pure genius.

You have to say "mate wood... hmmm, das ist fantastisch". Also what about umbrella? Why you didn't open it?

some comments decry the price or say a waste of money - but the difference is immense - they literaly feel so different to a normal car and when you look at the materials - well i was around the first gen New Phantom a bit and from the oputside it's hard to understand but fromn the inside it really does make sense. As for Vegan Leather - um we used to call that vinyl. So why not go cloth - or Alcantara (my preference) why have cold vinyl? For me Vegan leather is daft - the disadvantage of leather without the nice smell! Many pre new era Phantom and other Rolls had cloth for the passengers exactly for this reason - I'm sure Rolls will do any material you ask for (spec Alcantara - it's lovely) 😅

Yeah fabric or microfibre are a very good for cars. Rolls-Royce is very arrogant. A friend of mine asked for animal free interior and they told them, he has to bring his material himself and then they crash a car against the wall and then he pays for 2x Rolls. Thats because their old CEO was against leather alternatives and literally spread hate-speech on vegans, now they have new CEO I hope it will improve.

When I see a shooting star I crush it with a 1.5m long robotic door!

Can other car manufacturers take note, mainly VW? We don't need new different cars, we want a normal car with a EV powertrain. That's what this Rolls Royce is, an updated Wraith with an electric powertrain.

I find the proportions odd on this car. The front screams BMW by having those split headlights and DRL’s. The rear is very uninspiring. Lots of manufacturers have electric flaps for the charging port, yet this doesn’t. On a car like this, I’d have thought it would have. Perhaps RR have gone in a different direction now and are appealing to a different demographic. If I was spending at this price point, I’d go elsewhere.

Headlights remind me too much of the BMW 7 and the color is often seen on M cars.. Otherwise a cool car, rich people will buy them anyways.

I was all prepared to hate this car. Instead I think the great review suggests, that if you have it, >£500k is actually good value for this. Lesser cars could learn from the unobtrusive infotainment and the well judged real buttons and analogue UI; it does not have to cost as much as this car to do it. That said, I am not sure I would want to be seen in public with the colour scheme as reviewed, and something a bit more discrete would suit the marque better.
