Man, what a series! I don’t watch hockey often, but playoff hockey is a MUST! Up 3-0 and didn’t really seem like the stronger team…. Edm tied it 3-3, back home to FL, to win it all! What a series!! Congratulations to the Panthers, their fans, and the state of Florida! Enjoy the celebration and the championship!!!

League has a lot of parity . Original Six teams including New York Rangers and Boston Bruins consistently solid teams. Carolina Hurricanes..the Oilers will be great again next season. Buffalo has talented young team and haven’t made playoffs for many years. Next season maybe they will.

Perhaps watch your most local team, or if McDavid fascinates you enough be an Edmonton fan! They made it far this year, wouldn't be surprised if Edmonton made it back to the finals next year the same way the Panthers did this year and won it

Was a bit of a rollercoaster for the cats... but they found their best game when they needed it most!! Both teams were amazing... maybe we can do it again next year. Congrats to my Panthers!!! You are the best hockey team in the world !!

Oilers went back to giving more ice time to their elite guys..but it was rolling all four lines that worked for Oilers. Panthers were awesome and true to their excellent play we saw entire season. Congrats!

Just a couple of years ago Florida had no fans, they were right there with Arizona our list of teams that could move. There's no way they could have won The Stanley cup without their fans.

False...we have always been here but just like all of the other fans bases we are not going to go to the arena when they are 2-18 on a Wednesday night against the leagues best team...We have always been here and now we will ensure that everyone knows Florida is a premier hockey town.

Back in 2001 I was working in South Korea with mostly Canadians. They often, unprovoked, liked to tell me about how much better Canada was than America. Also they wore a maple 🍁 Leaf patch on their 🎒 backpacks so people didn't mistake them for an American. One day after hearing enough jealousy from one particular woman, I said "I would move to Canada, except for these three things: 1. It is a Frozen Tundra! 2. Your $ dollar ain't worth Sh!t!! 3. And you will never see the Stanley Cup (trophy) in Canada again!!! at which , all of the other Canadians in the room busted out laughing, nodding in agreement, especially about the Stanley Cup!!! And the woman stormed out of the office!!!!

The Panthers could’ve easily won this in 4, but Bettman made sure to “alter” games 4,5 and 6 for maximum league profits. After all, it’s a business and run as such. But it was so blatantly obvious. But at least the league did the right thing and let Florida take care of business in game 7! Congrats Cats!

Geez, Florida couldn't just make it easy. You gotta give Edmonton credit for dominating a three game stretch. But Florida seemed to have lost their game the moment the cup came into the building. The Panthers found their tenacity when it was needed. Wish they could've just won in 5😂. Oilers fans were cocky to start the series, resigned after game three, then cocky again after game 6. Now I can't even guess their mindset. Probably wishing it could've just ended in five as well. Might've been easier.

Happy for the Panther players. If McDavid wants a cup he's gonna need to play for an American team, preferably sunbelt. That's where the new money is and where the league wants to generate new fans. Was weird looking at the empty seats in a game 7, 8 minutes into the second period tho. Dunno if people are just there for the party or they really hockey. I wouldn't be caught dead missing that much of the game. The cup tours of each player was pretty dead too. Too bad because the fans there have an amazing team. They play such a system of shut down, physical, low scoring hockey. Reminds me of the Devils of the late 90s early 2000s.

@@michaelcarson121 Everything was gold for the Oilers in the 3 game winning streak. Its the only reason they had a chance because every breakaway was a goal and every bad bounce went in. But in the final game, there was one power play handed out to Florida's two. The strongest part of the Oiler's game was not going to be a showcase in that game. The final 30 seconds of game 7 was a microcosm of what Panther fans are cheering: skillful, speed oriented talent being bearhugged and smothered in the corner while player lay on the puck. I mean yay for you? but not for the hockey world that likes the actual game.

That's just great defensive strategy and maybe the Oilers should try to adapt a skill like that. It's part of hockey and there is nothing in the rule book that states players can't trap the puck on the boards. Not really sure what ur getting at here other than another excuse for while Diaper Soilers 💩 lost. Btw not sure what empty seats your referring to cause the stadium was sold out and full of all red jerseys. Really not many Oilers fans there but ppl like to make a big deal about it even though any team from any sport can take over opposing teams stadium. In case u didn't know the opposing teams fans are aloud to buy tickets to the games as well as home fans 😂.

@@michaelcarson121 You're getting yourself way too worked up bro for me to keep responding to this stuff. Oilers did find a way to beat this style. Hence 8-1, 5-3 and 5-1. However most of the star players need surgery or were playing with broken bones and lets face it, its a lot to ask to beat any team in the NHL 4 straight times in a row. Esp the last two standing. Hey if you love clutch and grab, holding, and smothering instead of actual skill then more power to you. Go to a highlight reel from the beginning of either the second or third period of any playoff game in Florida and the best seats in the house are empty from the start of the period to well over 5 minutes in. I mean its clear you're a Panther fan and you're pretty emotional about it so I guess that's what you know lol. Have a nice life.

Panthers didn't win this game, Edmonton lost it. Edmonton took their foot of the gas peddle, playing uninspired hockey. This was obviously the Edmonton's coach game plan. NWhen you play like you are afraid to lose, you become a loser. Problem was, the Edmonton coach never read this memo. The Oilers outplayed Florida in 5 of 7 games. Bob won 2 games by being a brick wall for Florida. In games 3-6 Edmonton had nothing to lose and played a loose, inspired game led by McDavid. Edmonton also solved Bob by going high on his blocker glove making the flood gates open. So what happened in game 7? Bad coaching on Edmonton's side, not making adjustments between periods to overcome Florida's game and game plsn. Which was to take an early lead and sit back. Edmonton players played with fear. None of them wanted to make a mistake so they shut down that pounding offense they tore through Florida in the last 3 games. McDavid didn't play in those extra gears he has in game 6 & 7. Everyone on Edmonton was waiting for the other guy to step up, to wait for their fairy godmother to weave a wand and turn the orange pumpkin into a Royal carriage and make it to the Ball and live happily ever after. Problem was, the fairy godmother seemed to get stuck in traffic or lose her way to the hockey arena this Monday night. There was no happy ending for the Oilers tonight, no ✨🎩✨ magic. To add insult to injury Edmonton couldn't score more than once.....it seemed they forgot Bob's weakness is his blocker high side. I guess they wanted to show the world they could win any way....lol. You would swear Edmonton's coach wanted to prevent any last minute comeback by his team to occur tonight by commiting a coaching blunder a pee wee coach with no experience wouldn't even commit. The Blunder???? That being pulling your goaltender near the last minute of the game without full control of the puck in the offensive zone. That's a tradition in hockey but it seems this coach wanted to break from tradition. Waiting those 10-15 seconds to properly gain control in the offensive zone would give your team the opportunity to use the extra 6th man to mount a barrage of shots to tie the game in the last minute. Instead, this coach trapped his own team in its own defensive zone with a yawning wide open net with your goaltender sitting on the bench while 2 Panther forwards were able to take pot shots at your open net and what's worse wasting what little time your team would have left to tie the game to try to win the Stanley Cup. Edmonton had the better team, the better players but a coach who choked when he pressure was really on. Understand this, there was no pressure on this coach in games 4, 5 & 6 because no one expected them to win. But game 7, the pressure was on Edmonton because they showed they were the better team and should win game 7. The problem with that was they had a coach who crumbled like a cheap suit on a hot muggy day.

Florida, Stanley Cup champions, really. Florida is about as far away from where the Stanley Cup should be as any city. Okay, fine, Florida is not a city, its a province or whatever they are called in the US. I’ve just been told they are states. In every sense of the word, the Stanley Cup is not in a good state if its in Florida. As a true hockey fan, and by that I mean a Canadian, the natural home of the Stanley Cup is Montreal, Ottawa, Winnipeg, Edmonton (oh that would have been nice), Calgary, Vancouver, and even Toronto. I am even willing to accept some non-Canadian cities like Boston, New York, Detroit and Chicago. There are even a few other American cities that get enough snow to make hockey legitimate - Buffalo and Minneapolis for example. But Miami, Dallas, Las Vegas and the rest of them where snow is a four letter word really should not even be playing for the Stanley Cup. So we are agreed then? Next year Winnipeg?
