Kentucky added the best shooter in the country, one of the most coveted point guards to enter the transfer portal last season in Kerr Krissa, two defensive players of the year in lamont Butler and Amari Williams, a McDonald's all American in Brandon Garrison, a stretch 4/5 in andrew carr who was one of the better bigs in the acc last year, a talented Wing/guard in otega oweh who alot of people loved last year that is gonna surprise some people this season IMO, all while having two more freshman that are snipers from 3 as well in collin Chandler and travis perry, yeah Mark pope has been incredible considering he has only been in Lexington for 2 1/2 weeks now. Absolutely amazing and impressive he has been with the staff and how quickly he pulled all this together.

@@Happytarheel7 Kobe brea is a better shooter than Cade, but Cade probably a better overall player, although I don't think so. Brea was a huge reason Dayton was a top 25 team last season. What did Belmont do??

Indiana had the best portal transfer but these guy dont mention them because they are so bias to Kentucky and Kansas. These dudes totally lost credit with me

Players should be able to play where they want to play. That said then should the universities be able to decide their own way of retaining players? If players want a free market then have a free market. Allow each college to come up with their own rules for recruitment. This means universities can come up with individual contracts with players. Ex. One college athlete might choice to have an open contract so he/she can transfer when ever they want and another player may decide to sign a contract that keeps them at a college for 4 years.

Important to remember - if your coach left, you have 30 days to hit the portal, even if 30 days is after May 1.

Portal is good for filling holes but building a team in the portal is asking for trouble. You are either developing your players or you are not. You can't do both portal and promise freshmen you will develop them. There is one basketball and so many minutes. Your recruits jump in the portal when they see teams too active.

They went from starting 5 ZERO experience freshman with no defense at all, light gust of wind blow them over. To being able to start 5 fifth year seniors starting potentially..and they will have "two" 3 time conference defense players of the year on the bench.. Either you didn't know that or you're projecting

Really? Who did they lose in the portal? Big Z, Wagner, Thiero, Ugo, Bradshaw, and Burks. While I like those pieces, especially Thiero and Big Z, if you think that group is better than who UK added in the portal then you really have no clue what you're talking about.

​@@Mike77787 there is a huge difference between experienced 4 star talents and fresh 4 star talents, and if you ask me Kentucky improved their overall situation program wise, and roster wise. They may have lost some talented kids, but the kids they lost wasn't that much of an impact, the entire success of the team last season was largely based off two players and that was Rob Dillingham and Reed Shepard. Also Justin Edwards playing well later in the year, all 3 going to the NBA..as for the transfers, they have actually improved overall.

If anybody understands that "college" players are better then one and dones it's uk fans, the reason my they didn't have the normal amount of one and dones this year is cause Calipari lost his fire, 10 years ago those guys would have been gone. 5 starting portal experienced and proven portal players > freshman with Zero experience.

😂😂 Arkansas will will be ridiculous this season. Kentucky fans are delusional. They will be lucky to make the tournament this year. It's completely hard getting a new coach and starting over. They don't remember what it's like, they have been spoiled. A rough year for them. And they're going to freak out when reality hits. Arkansas on the other hand, stacked.

You might want to do your homework before you run your keyboard. Kentucky has the most elite veteran players in all aspects. Your piggies got one just one, with a few 5 star freshmen and a couple of Kentucky's Cal lovers. The thing is, Cal had better than that for years at Kentucky, and he couldn't do anything with them because he can't coach. That's why he goes for the best so hard. He thinks that he can just let them do their own thing and win, without him coaching. I wish y'all the best but, you brought this up.😏

I wouldn't say Kentucky is going to struggle to make the tournament. Kentucky fans are definitely glazing way too hard over their additions but they're still a top 20 worthy roster.

Mark Pope took BYU to the tournament with less talent and less expectations. BYU does not have the same talent that Kentucky has and yet Pope did more with less.
