2024 Jeep Compass Latitude overview. The Jeep Compass is a compact crossover SUV [introduced for the 2007 model year and is currently in its second generation. It is positioned between the smaller Renegade and the larger Cherokee globally or the Commander in South America. In 2021, the new model was introduced under the new company, The Stellantis Group, which was formed in January of the same year. It was rebranded after FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automotive) and PSA (Peugeot, Citroen, and Opel) were combined to create a new company.
Model Updates:
2007-2011: Jeep built the Compass on the same platform as the Mitsubishi Lancer.
2011-2016: Compass refreshed with styling borrowed from the Cherokee, and improved drivetrains.
2016-2019: Jeep introduced a new platform named FCA Small Wide LWB 4x4.
2019-2021: Inside, Jeep installed a pair of bolstered bucket seats, 5-inch touchscreen
2021- Present: The new model came with updates on the exterior, a redesigned cabin, and new or improved engines depending on the market. In addition, new headlights, LED daytime running lights, entirely new dashboard with a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel. The Compass was available with a standard 8.4-inch touchscreen for base versions, while the upper grades had received a 10.1-inch one. All versions featured wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
