250 hp Escape will beat both compass and equinox in terms of handling, power and agility. Not to mention fun to drive.

My 24 Escape Active version Is NOW ON ORDER. I test Drove the 1.5-3 Cyl and I was Really Impressed for Power as I currently Drive the 2.3 Mustang Ecoboost with 310 HP!

All vehicles are expensive today.
I would go for the Compass. With the new 2.0 turbo and Freedom Drive 2 transmission, it's a big improvement. Cheers!
No mention of the Compass having the worst mpg of the bunch and the least cargo space???
I’m torn between escape and compass as second hand cars for me
the more comparable Chevy vehicle would have been the Trailblazer rather than the Equinox.

Avoid the ford escape. I have a 2020 and there’s a lot of things I hate about this car. The car is fully loaded, the new 3 cylinder is terrible warming up and providing heat in the winter. The sunroof rattles and makes terrible noises. The new 8 speed transmission needs a lot of refinement and is very jerky, and shudders big time! Just can’t escape the problems, very disappointed..

Yeah, the Taos is better than these three vehicles in just about every way. Ok ... all ways.
