You could move the bookshelves together centered on the wall to a more balanced cohesive look.

A wall mounted plant hook would go perfect between the bookcases, then get a big pothos.

Dana and Cas say If a room or place continuously gets messy, it has too much in it. I would’ve never have agreed with that concept until I decluttered our home in 2020. Decluttering our home and life style has been life changing 🙌 Great transformation 🩷

Ideas for your library are to paint like you said. Perhaps a fake fireplace between the bookshelves? Sell/ give away large desk and large chair. They take up tons of space. Maybe more seating for reading and desks in center of the room facing each other like we had back in elementary school? I love the idea if a dark color for walls and shelves. “They “ are calling it “academia “ moody” style i believe.

Another suggestion for the library, is you can put up floating shelves on the wall with the bookcases. So you are not left with DEAD space between the bookshelves.

Yes, I thought about this and agree about that unused space. My thought was to put board shelves in the space to connect with the side bookshelves; then close the top and side of the book cases with molding and make it look like a builtin. I loved your idea about painting the walls and bookcases a matching color. The library will look soooo good!!!

The outlet and the book shelves are mounted to the wall very securely and we don’t want to risk moving them.

The space between the bookcases needs some shelves. This will give you more room to store school stuff. Otherwise, you did a lot of cleaning and I know eventually you will get your spaces clean and clutter free. Love you and I can’t wait for the next video. 😊
