Dr Robin Zasio from Hoarders wrote a book, The Hoarder in All of Us, I think. Anyway, she talked about her own drawer of make up and how old some of it was-because it’s expensive and involves good sensory memories of applying it and feeling good. It’s a hard item!

Hi Barbie A marriage is a partnership. That means all responsibilities are shared. You have the kids and the household during the week while he is at work and on the weekends he can watch the kids and household. It’s simple really. Your husband sounds reasonable and I can tell from the way you speak that you love each other and respect each other how you feel I am so happy for you both. You are both making money for the benefit of your family and also helping others at the same time. It’s a win win situation 🎉

A question that I recommend my clients ask themselves when they go through clothes- would I buy this again today? That is the number one helper. Another- am I keeping this because I got it for a good deal, or because it cost a lot? Let it go. The more you let go of, the more you love everything in your closet that is left. ❤ - love, a professional home organizer 😁

My favorite "hack" On Jan 1st, I turn all the hangars in our closet around backwards. Next Jan 1st, the items still on backwards hangars go to Purple Heart. We have a personal hack as well, which might seem kinda mean, but we don't judge and love people where they are. When we visit people who have cluttered homes/garages, we feel the need, when we get home to de-clutter....so we end up de-cluttering the house/garage at least 4 times a year. We love our friends/family, and if that is how they are happy, we are happy for them. We appreciate the motivation!

Was so kind of Redkey to supply the vacuum and so kind that you gave it to homeowners. I bet they were very happy. Especially the crevice tool, for quick sweeps...I liked tools, it could be used on couches, stairs, above cabinets...ect. Barbie, you are incredible to go through so much in only 8 hours! Thanks Barbie, this video was the most helpful I’ve seen of yours so far. It took me a few days to watch this video. Every time you said something that sparked my brain, I paused it to go do something. e.g. When you said pick up the clean clothes first, I paused and started to put away those items, including my long arctic-weather winter coat that I haven’t worn for 3 months. Just doing that really opened up the space. Please post at least one video a month cleaning a home that is cluttered but not infested. I (and I imagine others) cannot handle too many videos with bugs and rodents.

Hi, your videos are so great! This one is motivating me to clean my cluttered basement. I wanted to tell you not to worry or apologize when you use a wrong term in English, it's no big deal. English seems like it would be a pain in the butt to learn as a second language, you do so well with it! I doubt I could come up with two whole words in Hungarian, so you're way ahead of me lol!

I really like this long video showing you sorting into clear groups quickly, and explaining, teaching at the beginning of each part. It’s very helpful. I wonder how you don’t get distracted by the owner. Don’t they comment about many things or want to see what you’re throwing away? That would slow things down too much!

Thank you for mentioning people who grew up with controlling parents. My mom was abusive and controlling and would always yell at me for not keeping things as clean as she liked it but also not really show me how to do it. When I moved out I had to teach myself how to really clean and I had a lot of depression and anxiety that made it hard to keep up, also the standards of my mom and ironically my dad who doesn't clean much at all are unreasonably high. I have given up talking to her about household stuff because she is extremely judgemental about my cleaning even though I life in a regularly clean flat now. But it's never enough for her.

Go to the children’s hospital? Ask to help the parents? That is the sweetest thing I’ve ever heard. No one ever really thinks of the parents. Just the child. You are an angel. Definitely. 👼 👼 👼 👼 👼 👼 👼 👼 👼 👼 👼

There is a thing called ' QoL ' Quality of Life, and what you do is give back QoL to your clients, it helps with their mental health and inspires them to continue your work and or keep up with what you have done for them, keep up the great work/ help.

My husband was young when he went through WW2. They had nothing and were able to flee to America. He always had SO much crap. He finally said it made him feel safe.😢 think sometimes this behavior is rooted somewhere in childhood and comes out later. Could b wrong. Just a thought.

actually, you are very accurate. my mother & grandmother were in a concentration camp during WW2 , ,so when they first came to America , it was hard for my mom to throw things away due to everything they had owned was confiscated ( including their homes ) and also from starvation in the camps. They learned to trust & feel safe, and adapt here in America..My mom & grandmother both kept immaculate homes ! Both were my role-models ! They taught me their talents to garden , clean house & to be an excellent hostesses of marvelous dinner parties 😊

I’m 53, and I’ve never seen so much makeup ever, one of those trays would hold all the makeup I’ve EVER owned. It would have been interesting to see the owner’s progress with the clothes….

You really motivate me & it's so helpful to see you go from chaos to clear & clean in even just a container 😊 Bit of feedback for the vacuum company though. The instruction manual actually said INSTRACATION manual. When a professional company is sloppy with spelling I just assume they don't worry about keeping high standards & it puts me off using that company. Vacuum looks light & nifty though! ☺️
