    Did anyone else catch the backhanded insult of Tobi? First, the British guy stated that her entire last season was a disappointment and what she planned to do about it? She handled that well, but I am here to call him out. That question was terrible.

    Lower expectations are a good thing. I hate GOAT callers. I can tolerate someone who holds an individual to their season's best. That is what happened in the interviews with all who were interviewed. The purest, most despicable, least reasonable question is 'hey, Joe or Josephine why have you not set a world record?" Nostradamus covered that when he skillfully spoke of "The Golden Age of the Long Jump.' World records are not products of some progressive theory of evolution. There is no evidence that humans that are subject to similar conditions and environments evolve solely with the passage of time! So, as long as the interview was about a personal best relative to a seasonal performance I find such a question to be acceptable, fair, and accurate.

  • @kandicep3052

    @kandicep3052

    21 күн бұрын

    @josedelnegro46 he did not tell any other athlete that their last season was a disappointment. He could have asked her how she felt about her last season and followed that up with a question on her goals this year. It was insulting. This is often the case of microaggressions toward black women. You could tell in her response that she was taken aback.

  • @kandicep3052

    @kandicep3052

    21 күн бұрын

    @farzana6676 the question was an opinion, and clearly she was taken aback by it. He did not insult any other athlete like that, and several of them including Omanyala and the sprinter from South Africa have been struggling as of late. You don't insult your guest, then question her in that manner. It was rude. There were better ways to handle that.

    Last season Lyles was talking about dropping 19.10s and 9.6s and delivered nothing even remotely close to that. Now he's saying he's in 9.7s low pace and then shows up and doesn't even go sub 10s. 🤔 Man, Lyles is great but hearing this BS times over and over again becomes tiring... Just run the times and stop talking about what seem to be impossible times beforehand.

    @@stephentrader9142 Never said Lyles is not great. He absolutely is. What I'm pointing out is he talks a lot of nonsense sometimes. He is saying that he's in 9.7s low shape, based on how fast he is at 60m, and when he shows up in the 100m he doesn't even go sub 10s? More so, his 60m spits in those 100m races are all around 6.6s ish. And in practice he is going 6.40s ish? I call it BS. Also, Lyles being neck and neck with Tyson Gay's 6.39s does not mean that Lyles is in 9.7s low shape, because Gay was much faster than Lyles from 60...100m.

  • @Yes_I_c4n

    @Yes_I_c4n

    21 күн бұрын

    @@Ultramiles206 The Olympic Games do not tend to bring out the fastest times in the 100m. Out of the 10 fastest 100m times ever, only 2 times (9.63s and 9.69s) were ran at the Olympics and that was by Bolt. Out of the 35 fastest 100m times ever, only 3 times (9.63s, 9.69s and 9.75s by Blake) were ran at the Olympic games. In the 200m, out of the 25 fastest times ever, only 4 times were ran at the Olympic Games. That's 19.30 and 19.32s by Bolt, 19.32s by MJ and 19.44s by Blake. So you see, the percentage is quite low actually.
