yeah i think its pretty good value for the money and since that ride ive decided i think it will be ideal to do a few of my ride -camp- cooks series on. seeing the ground clearance is good for me plus duel type tyres i think it should be ideal. plus i have saddle bags and stuff i can fit to try it out so to me the benefits far out weight the negs which apart from the screen are few and far between fire ban is close to lifting here as temps are low so i guess i can get into it shortly

i didnt go much on the drz400e i had bit high in fact really high and just too loud and i dont mind loud bikes within reson. the suzuki 750 gt i had in '73 was pretty good considering i wanted a new norton comando 850 which was $300 more so this time i think its not a bad buy for some-one on a budget who is chasing a good all round reliable bike. i can see it doing a few good runs in the scrub. but the little cb125f is also good value for $3600 so there are good bikes out there for all tastes. while at the harly dealership i looked over all the HD's -they start at $24K - i just couldn't see the money in them i's swing straight to a car and pay a bit extra and get something good...lol

well ive been thinking and this could be the bike i do some ride and camp runs on. its not a heap of shit and so far i like to ride it. i recall days when i had 5 brand new and pretty pricey bikes here and walked out and looked them over and didnt want to ride any of the youtube hopefully click on bikes. ive decided now just buy and ride the ones i like. after all 600 views per clip is not too exciting for being truthful on bike reviews i bet if i started spinning good positive stories i could get up there with the other liars pretty easy...lol afterall the better one feels the easy it is to take their money...lol or so i say...lol no rattles in a classic 500 mate -thats just it's character. a real mans bike... see the reader feels good already lol yeah sure they are still vibrators regardless and not very reliable or my 15 weren't! always good i think if one shoots his mouth off just add that last sentence...or my 15 weren't ...its called ammo...lol thats far better than shooting with a single shot as one could easily miss the target all the best!

Mate, thank you for these videos. I'm just about to buy my first motorcycle and was looking at the CB125F and stumbled across your review of it. After watching your review of that bike I was super keen, then I was talked out of it as I'll be doing about 20km on the motorway and was told that the CB125F probably was a bit under powered for that. I then started looking for another bike and found the V Strom 250 SX.... and here you are again reviewing that exact same bike, I couldn't believe my luck. I am definitely sold on it after your glowing recommendation!! Thank you for your honest opinions and the work you put in to making these videos :)

all good there. i actually buy the bikes then ride and tell.....lol the other can only borrow the bike and tell it all to please the dealers.....lol i said to a dealer just a few days back-imagine if i had to test ride your bikes and i was not easy on the review...i bet i wouldn't get another bike and he just smiled.....lol so i said thats why i buy-that way i can tell it how i see it! ok if you can go the exta $$$ go vstom sx as it will cruise dead easy and little effort at 100 kph and pull the hills too. very little vibe in bars and pegs or not enough to worry about compared to say some of the others. nice handling on the sealed roads and pretty good on dirt but not so good my way in the mud...lol not bad to sit on and only real drawback i found windscreen but now its sorted out in next clip and brakes a bit spongy but i think they will settle with klm. overall a very good bike at a good price. easily outdo 125f but the f is a better around town runner and easy to ride through traffic. 250x is a much bigger bike than i first thought and not far behind in size a honda cb500x

Excellent honest bike review and tutorial. Suzuki has totally impressed me with this model release. Lower CC bikes always seem to get left out on any decent factory accessories... not this bike. Pretty amazing how it comes with everything AND runs great to boot. Maybe a clip-on windscreen spoiler would be a cheap fix for that low windscreen. The no bad vibration and good throttle response comments are huge. So many bikes are plagued by those two things these days. Well done on your selection 👏

thanks F/N this ride out and back on the suzuki has got me back into the idea of doing those camp/ride series. this would be a far better bike to get a bit more off road and maybe the tyres would do too after-all i was stock tyres on the enfield and a slight mistake so this might be the answer. getting cold here now so i think i can get this suzuki into gear and try the idea out soon. this new suzuki is no-where perfect but it sits in a good value for the money and no-one is being ripped off like all the other bikes and constant price hikes. i think the crf300l has gone up a good $1000 since i bought mine. rattly motor bar vibes and wobbly front wheels and all thrown in for free...lol honda would learn a nit from suzuki like how to build a smooth motor and not overchage to do so...lol

long term reviews are valuable for seeing how well everything holds up or if there is any issues that need to be fixed. i agree with you on the service cost i service mine, don't care about warranty on a suzuki. but you can also get any mechanic to service it and it'll still be covered. there won't be much to do on that bike, oil change and and a once over for loose bolts. it doesn't even have spokes to tighten.

Doing my reviews on this bike Warro, I was interesting to hear your thoughts as always. The 2 main things that have made me second guessing is the vibration doing 105km/h and up. That can’t be fixed. Being a adv touring bike that should have been sorted. Second is the suspension off road. Again, I think for the class of bike it should be ok, I’m not expecting great, just ok. To get to dirt I have to go on a motorway. So this matters. I’d be interested in your thoughts once you’ve tested it on these types of riding. Like you say, I hear as long as you stay under a 100 on road/twisties then it’s amazing.

Just a side note: You should really ride the bike fairly hard during break-in, ride for a bit let it cool and so on, varying the revs and not keeping it constant like you are doing mostly. When I bought my DR and DL, I gave them both a hard time during break-in and they are both running very well. DR at 60000km is using no oil.

I haven't ridden the 310 but personally, I cannot ever get on a BMW again, positively loathe them, my opinion though. well i think breakin are a personal choice....lol i rode 2 enfield classic 500 both new hard from the day i got them from the dealer and both threw in the towel at just 700 klm period. each suffereed from burnt out valve. speaking of this bike its had a sort of run-in. after dropping it in the mud the gearcharger somehow sun around and jammed against the case and i had to ride it 35 klm in second gear with 100 klm on the clock. had it out yesterday and did a 200 klm run and it ran extremely well. unfortunately i still dont like it as much as my enfield 350 as i think its more old school style but the sx250 is a pretty good bike and runs really well for a 250. i think they will sell heaps of them as they are near giving them away at aud$6490 rideaway

Suzuki should knock $100 off the bike with the low seat option. Or did the bike come with two seats? I’m glad to hear the high opinion about the bike feel and performance. I'm a bit like you mate, been riding almost 60 years and have lost count of the bikes I've owned, but of them all, my favourite was a new V Strom 650 I bought some years back. I'm just waiting for these to get to the dealer mid August, and I'll be picking one up. It might be a bit small and gutless, but at my age it'll do just to potter round on and stick my nose up dirt roads on a voyage of exploration. I'm not in a hurry anymore and I can't justify huge expense, so I'll happily settle for the lighter weight and dual purpose nature of the 250SX . Personally, I think a Suzuki of this type should be yellow, but I'm going to the local dealer to look at the other colour which he has for test rides, (It's probably "your" one,= the one you didn't get).

I had thought about stepping down from a V-Strom 650 to the Honda CB500X, but at nearly half the price of the CB500X (and the ability to do 90% of it's riding), I'm really liking the value equation of the V-Strom 250SX. I guess this bike won't be on Gumtree before the top box arrives from Suzuki! Shame they didn't send you the orange coloured model. I find windshields are a personal thing and most people have to find a version/accessory to suit their physical dimensions. The issue with aftermarket exhausts in my experience is that they sully the perfect fuelling of the factory exhausts. Even the slip on versions that claim no tuning is required.

Barring the low front suspension travel, the little Strom absolutely doesn't complain anywhere you take it. I own the bike, trust me, the front suspension travel is not an issue at all real life, I ride 70% of time with a pillion, it never bottoms out even on bad roads, even with a pillion. The rear suspension is a stiff one though, when you ride solo without luggage. But on the other hand, the XPulse with a pillion or load points its headlight to the sky and rear suspension basically loses all its travel. So, I think Suzuki wanted the bike to carry more load as unlike India ADV riding with panniers/topbox is huge overseas, even the subframe is reinforced well and is a great bike for riding two up. Such a comfortable pony.

Hi Warro, great review! I currently own a klx230 (dual sport) which you reviewed as well at some stage I believe. I purchased the bike to ride with my son in the bush and whilst also getting my license. Now that I’ve got my license and my son lost interest in riding and we nog longer live on the edge of the bush, I seem to prefer to ride the state forest and National Parks (Grampians, Vic) a bit more. I just feel like the klx230 (although a great bike for its purpose) vibrates too much and gets uncomfortable once you get closer to the 100km/h and even with the double take adventure mirrors.. once you go over 90km/h the vibration makes the mirrors barely usable. (Same with stock mirrors in my experience) Anyway, now with the arrival of the vstrom 250sx I think that would be better suited to my needs and hopefully I can trade the bike (low km) at the same local Kawasaki /Suzuki dealer. One of my ‘issues’ is that the 350 classic March Grey is really pulling me in as I love the classic look and vibes. This particular signage bike is currently on sale at my nearest dealer (1.5hrs away) for only $500 more than the Vstrom SX. As I’ve seen you riding your classic on all sorts of roads I feel it would work great. I’m more of a relaxt rider taking in the scenery than roughing it up in the bush, but do like the quiet dirt roads in the area. As you said, the Vstrom might be the better bike, but doesn’t give the same feeling as the classic looks and sound of the 350. I know it might just come down to taste and if I go for classic 350 (also depending on what I can get for my klx230) I probably need to buy another pair of boots as I currently have adventure style boots which might struggle to shifts gears properly due to its bulky shape unless I get a heel and toe shifter which I have never user before. Thanks again for your great review! Really looking forward to the camping videos on both vstrom and classic. Cheers

if your happy to do just what i do..the odd dirt track...lol the classic 350 will do that with no issues. the new hunter i bought 3 weeks back does it better and more zing too it but just doesn't look the part of the classic. its more modern but a good ride just the same. the suzuki vstrom is smoother than both of them and very low on bar vide. cruises with no effort at 100 kph -would top out i'd say at 140 kph. great balue too so overall a very good bike if you plan more dirt. i did have issues in mud and found out quick too...like first ride. its a hard call now as the bikes i have i actually like them or i'd moved them out. done that side quite a bit. so if you like old school charm and looks go classic but bare in mind its not a hill climber . if you want a bit more get up and go -the hunter does just that. pretty lively really. the vstrom will do all that faster and more comfortable too but just looks like any other duel purpose bike but much cheaper. really is a good ride. i'd go classic 350 reborn but i'm bias there...lol plus i have all 3 so that must say something too. by the way hit gumtree or bikesales first to sell the klx230. im sure you'll score better than a dealer. done it heaps of times. you may come out of that sale better than you think.

I've had someone ask me to do a 1000 mile review ... on my first bike. I don't know my ass from my elbow, it's my first bike! I don't think my opinion on a bike is relevant in that regard, I don't even have any experience to compare it to

well you could try if the idea appeals to you but in all honesty its no picnic on the tube...lol more trouble than what its worth and you'll find 99% are only out to get the info they want and the 1% could be classed as loyal followers. plus you have to get use to the idea of remove and block nuisance comments. so if you think its for you go for it but you meet some nasty customers on this platform all the best should you venture on. good tip if you want followers -tell them everything positive and it effects them dearly and you'll score some quick subs. .

It's about 30kg heavier than a DR200, that's disappointing. Not clear where all the extra weight is. The fairing is only extra large component compared to a DR

one never knows how that plays out and you could be right there. at times ive bought 2 bikes same engine and both run different or one caused troubles. overall im happy with the bike and i think they are pretty good value for not much money. i never thought i'd be saying how good the bike is but i did and i think nice bike ran well on the way home and sat on 100 kph nice would i swap it for my classic 350 -no but i like enfields and its hard to get a good one...lol
