I think I can answer that question about those "wings" on the dash. If I'm not mistaken, in Europe you can have digital camera side mirrors as opposed to regular ones, and those "wings" are where the monitors for those cameras would go. Since the US has a law that cars need standard side mirrors, they don't put the cameras in, thus no monitors either.

These are everywhere in Germany. I haven't driven one myself yet, because I am not really considering buying one as my next car, but it's still a very good looking car. I wasn't expecting Hyundais electric vehicles to become so good after most of their previous gas cars were either bland or just grotesque. I just looked up pricing for them, which seems to be quite competitive. The base model starts at 44.000€ in Germany, which is including VAT but not including any government grants. Even before government grants, the price is about the same as an Audi A4 with the base engine and some options (all of which are standard on the Ioniq 6). If you factor in the government grant for electric vehicles, you can buy this car for 38.000€ in Germany (including VAT!), which is very hard to beat.

17:00 I, like many other Eco-conscious EV buyers, want the most range from the smallest battery possible. The Model 3's popularity proves that many people still want efficient sedans. Crossovers and larger vehicles are just force-fed to consumers because they're so much more profitable for manufacturers and allow them to skirt emissions regulations.

There is one thing I think should have been talked about more in this video. I think the major benefit of the Ionic 6 is range. That body doesn't look as good as the 5's for sure, but has a better coefficent of drag (0.21 vs 0.28) and less weight. The 6 has a massive 361 miles of range in the longest range spec vs the Ionic 5's 303 miles or EV6 at 310 miles. That extra range could be the difference for a buyer being able to go to a requented distant location, or having to stop along the way, or even just having a much more comfortable buffer.

Did you notice if this lower spec trim Ioniq 6 had more rear sear headroom than the Limited model that you had for the initial tour? From the specs it looks like it should have between 1 and 2 inches more headroom in back if you don't have the sunroof. The styling reminds me of the Merkur XR4ti - at least the rear end.

7:53 I updated my 2021 Sonata Nline infotainment software and got a screen similar to the one on this car, except it's got a dark theme. Frankly, it was a great improvement from the original setup they had. The original menus and layouts were not intuitive at all, this new one is refined and looks cooler too. Regarding the home screen, I completely agree with Doug, it's pretty to look at, but not at functional. I guess Hyundai realized this because at least on my car, the HOME button takes you to the main menu, not the pretty to look at but useless home screen. The original home screen for my car was much more functional. it had a three way split so you could have three screens up at the same time as your home screen. Hyundai should've left the option to customize your home screen because for daily use I'd prefer the slicker look, but when I'm actually navigating somewhere or have people in the car, the three way split was immensely more useful.
