2023 Canon Vixia HF R800 Review: An In-Depth Look with Real Footage!

This video details the Canon HF R800 1080P Camcorder, and goes in depth by showing actual video content shot by the R800 in multiple modes, as well as a detailed hands on review of the R800 and how to adjust settings to optimally work for YOU. In 2023, there are many models of cameras and camcorders available to shoot HD content, but the R800 holds a lofty spot in the best bang for your buck. Kevin from Prickly Pear Camera has 15 years of experience in the imaging industry in a variety of roles, and a result has used a majority of the currently available consumer level cameras and camcorders currently on the market. #how #howto #review #reviews #camera #camerareviews #canon #videography #ad

    What external Microphones are y'all using that are compatible? Appears it's a TRRS 3.5mm input (4 pole) and does not supply Phantom power. The two below appear compatible; - Lavalier vixia R800 - Takstar SGC-598

    Yes, that's correct, the sensor size of the HF R800 is 3.2MP, so I would imagine the resolution of the still would be the same.

    It is possible, but believe that it requires using a video capture device between the camcorder and your computer and the cost may not be worth it, there are several threads about this on Canon's website and some work arounds people have done with various software and CPUs.

    kzread.info/dash/bejne/oGp3t6-of8XTcqg.html In 2019 I shot this concert amateurishly with the Canon Hf R82 and the Samsung Note9Ultra. The 1080p footage from the card is better, but much too massive a file for KZread, so I edited the simultaneously recorded 720p files from the 32gb internal storage. For the money, even in 2023 she still cannot be beat for versatility and pocketability.

    I really like this camcorder but I think it got discontinued and I'd like to buy a brand new camcorder if I can. The Sony cx405 seems to be the only decent cheap camcorder left. Nice video.

    @@pricklypearcamera do you have a favorite camcorder in this price range? The 3 I'm looking at are the canon r800, the panasonic v180k and the Sony cx405.

  • @pricklypearcamera

    @pricklypearcamera

    Жыл бұрын

    @@PunkyBoyGWiz I would rank them Canon R800 #1, CX405 #2, HC-V180 #3. I think the overall field of view video quality of the HF R800 is the best as is the image stabilization. It does the best to create the most natural video reproduction. The CX405 does a surprisingly good job for it's price, and I would say is just a step lower than the R800 in terms of performance. The Panasonic V180 is quite small and compact, doesn't have great battery life, and if you are shooting outdoors with natural light does a serviceable job, but if you are indoors it tends to produce somewhat grainy footage. Just my experience anyway!

    It's a shame that Canon don't make these anymore for the PAL market. They are a very handy second string camera to throw into risky conditions. Like on fast corners at racing circuits.

    This camera will of course record in the dark, but in terms of actual output video, it will too be black/dark. Options include a fill light that could lighten the area for shooting.

    The first one I owned, did a good job until it got straight line down the middle of the video. I had to contact Canon, and they sent me a new one. I have owned this one for a year or two. Now it has developed lines in the viewer. The last video I made with it, it was going in and out of focus. Just a little, but enough that you can see it.
