2022 Porsche 911 GTS | High Limits

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

We review the new 2022 Porsche 911 GTS and Targa. Two options bridge the gap between the Turbo S and GT3. We discuss the road manners, interior design, and what it's like to drive on the street. These cars have a higher availability which makes them more appealing. With tight competition would you choose Aston Martin or a Mercedes AMG GT?

    Best part about the 911: All of them are good. From the base to the S models to the GTS to the Turbo S to the GT models. There's one for everyone (provided they don't bankrupt you).

    @@papa_pt Current X1 is a rebodied Mini Countryman. Previous gen was effectively a stretched (and taller) 1 series. Ours has been dead-nuts reliable. There can be problems with the timing chain tensioners in the 4 cyl, but BMW has agreed to extend the warranty on those engines to cover that. The most reliable/cheapest to maintain car we ever owned was a 2nd gen Civic. Our E39 chassis 530 was a very close 2nd. We put over 100k miles on that, and the only expense was replacing a window seal (2 hours of my time and $35). Least reliable/most expensive to keep running? Tie between the Subaru and the 1st gen Integra.

    @@americanAlienBoy yeah I recently realized the first gen was the closest we came to a turbo six e91 wagon in the states. Yes loved my e39 530.. Also had a 2011 Subaru legacy that was dead reliable. Currently on an e61 535 and have to say pretty much deprise drivijnf the X1 when I get a loaner. The pedals are like on and off switches no progression

  • @_Makanko_

    @_Makanko_

    2 жыл бұрын

    I think the issue is usually not with the audio system brand but rather how the car manufacturers build the system into their cars. A list might be difficult and they usually just state whether it's better to pay more for the "premium" sound upgrade or not. I think before they can make a list on the better audio system you would have to categorise them based on price and use case first. It's not a bad idea, I think it might be a good thing to ask on one of their live Q&A's.

    This is something I've wondered as well. It looks like use technical stats as well as subjective measures to determine which stereos are good and which ones are bad. Someone above commented they might not be ready to spill the beans who has the worst system out there. However, I think they could do this in a tasteful, non-disparaging way. Besides, these brands need to know that there are a lot of us out here who really do care about the audio system in a vehicle, no matter what kind of vehicle it is. Do it! Do it! Do it!

    I have noticed that each new generation of 911 GTS has been as capable or better than the previous generation 911 GT3. If this holds, the 992 GTS will be comparable to the 991.2 GT3! That alone will be remarkable.

    You guys probably have the highest comment to view ratio. I have a Targa4s white metallic red and black full leather on order with a dealer close to you guys. Thinking 2 years before delivery. Have you tried driving north to the WI driftless area? This is where glaciers did not flatten everything. Some of the best driving roads in the country!!

    I love that road. I live north of Atlanta and have been up there a few times. All the car guys here know this road up to Blood Mountain, along with Wolf Pen Gap Rd north of Vogel State Park. I can say that this area is the perfect place to test a sports car - those turns are no joke and will wake you up right away - not to mention some nice greenery. If money was no object I think I'd take the Targa 4 GTS - seems like a nice compromise between a Cabriolet and the coupe. Having the ability to take the roof off always makes the driving experience more fun, while having a hard top is nice for longer drives on the highway.

    I'm not a Porsche guy but I'm amazed how Porsche can slice and dice their customers into all these little slots where there is a 911 model for each one of them. It's all extremely clever...and a little pricey. I tip my hat to 911 ecosystem. I'm a much simpler guy and my OG M2 and I motor along quite happily through all this.

    Every time they introduce a new variant they get magazine covers and more reviews on here and everywhere else. They could probably cut out a few specialty models, but their advertising people would have a fit.
