Do you know who bitches about the 520? Those who don't have one! I have this very same one shown and I feel like a kid again, love it!

2023 honda 520 utv starts in winter weather 38 below zero at 7000 ft. Snow tracks were a plus

I love my 500 and wouldn't trade it for any other. The only real issue I have is the front bumper plate "nose" looks like a skid plate but is easy to dent. I've placed some thick rubber traction steps for a truck nerf bar on it mostly to hide the one small dent from bumping my tilt bed trailer when getting it loaded and also to help cushion if it happens again. I haven't found anything on the market to place over the nose area other than a full skid plate from SSS. I like it but, it requires drilling a number of holes to mount it and I really don't like putting holes in vehicles. And the price is out of my reach so, I bought a Super ATV Skid Plate that doesn't cover the nose. There are sections of this plate that cover from side to side under the floor that have mounting points that require drilling but I found I didn't need to use them as it's strong and flexible enough to free float. I'm now working on making a plate that I can attach without having to drill any holes. The only other concern is the weight limit does stop me from loading it with gear as much as I could but that's where a trailer comes in.

To follow up on the front end I bought a thick plastic cutting board and by heating it I was able to shape it to fit what I wanted to be covered. It fits just behind the top of the skid plate and I secured it in place with a metal 1"X1/4" plate across the back of the bumper with a bolt on each end, with no drilling holes in the vehicle.

Top speed is 39-40mph at least on the 2021. I use manual mode for trail riding and automatic around the farm.

When you use the paddle shifters do you have to let off of the gas pedal or you just shift? And when you are an automatic mode can you still use the paddle shifters to downshift and upshift if you want?

Yes you can override the auto anytime. With the trans in it you don’t have to let off when you shift. Not like a Honda atv.

cool , whats the top speed on this unit ?

Bought a 2022 after waiting 6 months in Michigan. Saying the shifting is "clunky" is a kind understatement. Was ridiculous for first 50 miles and has improved some, but very disappointing.

If you let it run a minute before you drive it and get some temperature it will get smoother. Also yes as you get closer to 100 miles it will improve some.

I really like these machines but cant understand why honda doesn't offer a front locker for it

I have the 2022 Honda 520 pioneer and went through some pretty gnarly mud the other day with no problem. But yes it would be nice.

When I sat in one it felt like the steering wheel and the seat weren’t lined up. Not very impressed with the transmission horsepower or suspension but I do like the width.

No stores around me have these and they can’t tell you when they will get one. Ridiculous!

Honda has been random about shipments, isn’t dealers fault. But some are able to have more info than others but most dealers findout at the same time as each other

I’m not totally sure might be just general material or unable to speed up production. I know their are a lot of shipping delays and mixups where units get built but sit in a warehouse for a month before actually shipping to the dealer…

@@BrickNick931 just doesn’t make sense. I’ve never been off work for Covid, not even a week..can’t understand why everything hasn’t gone back to normal yet…even though I’m sure it has to do with China being the pricks they are aren’t opening everything back up.

I was told that factory shut down 5 months during the outbreak and still haven't gotten back to capacity.

Has anyone had trouble with their exhaust? I have a 2022 p520 and it has had the muffler replaced 3 times due to welds breaking.

Where is it breaking? As a hobby wielder I would beef up weld where it's breaking. If you can't wield take to welding shop.

Have the 520 and those tires suck. Gets u stuck fast

Yes! I’ve watched so many reviews and that is one thing always missed. Not sure why Honda doesn’t just put it in the specifications. @BrickNick (or someone who has access to a 520): please throw a tape measure on the bed and let us know the inside dimensions, tailgate up and down. Thanks in advance!

No very quiet! Because of the transmission it doesn’t rev high unless you want it to. You can buy a roof/ windshields and more for these from Honda

Buy your roof, windshield etc. Aftermarket. Hondas add one are double what Aftermarket accessories are!!

Without a wider stance the p500 is horrible on side hills, and really the only upgrade over the original is barely bigger engine and a dump box. Would have been great to get more suspension and a diff lock. If the rubicon diff lock and suspension could be used on the p5 it would be a way better machine. Having only 6" of suspension travel is not good its barely better then a golf cart.

Good overview. I love my 520 although the shifting is quite rough and jerky. You have the same thing or is it just me?

Dealers are doing the ripping off . I purchased my 2021 pioneer 500 for MSRP + tax out the door no destination fee’s. Choose your dealer carefully .

@@duanenelson6686 Try getting a 2022 for that now. Shipping fees have quadrupled in past 12 months. I dealt with 12 dealers in 4 states. Best deal was 13k. They will not sell you a bare bones pioneer now. They are selling with windshield, roof, winch etc or you don't get it. They have turned in to harley davidson.

​@rogerthomas169 my old 610 mule with a carb and a 401cc engine will out climb the Honda all day. Lack of a low range is the deal killer for me on the Honda.

Wow, it looks like a big riding lawn mower.Ive never seen one of these. Honda has lame designs.

I know that it's just utility... but , the exhaust is atrocious. They could at least give it a pleasant sound, it sounds like a pigmy gorilla beating its chest with plastic armor on yuck 🤮
